On Saturday 17th July 2021 Beechfield United's 1st Team were in pre-season action with a friendly match against local rivals Salford Victoria and secured a 3-0 victory.

In heatwave conditions Salford Victoria made a confident start and quickly putting pressure on the United defence forced some vital saves from keeper Jack Galbraith who was making his Beechy debut. Against the run of play United grabbed the lead when an effort by Zak Murray deflected into the net off a Salford Victoria defender. Continuing to move the ball around with pace and accuracy on the artificial surface at Salford Sports Village Vics went close to an equaliser on several occasions. Beechy had a goal disallowed before Zach Booth put United 2-0 up though once again the ball took a wicked deflection before nestling in the back of the net.

The second half developed a similar pattern of play and when Vics maintained a strong attacking threat there was some excellent defending from Deren Saunders. Producing impressive performances were Man of the Match Tom Allcock and Ashley Ward another player who was making his United debut. Zar Jordan completed the scoring when he controlled a high booted clearance from Jason Rodgers and held off challenges from two Vics defenders before firing the ball past the keeper.
