POSTED: June 06 2016 09:43:58 By Keith Long - Ben Oldroyd debut for Radcliffe Borough

Former Beechfield United Junior Player Ben Oldroyd made his semi-professional debut for Radcliffe Borough against Droylsden FC in April 2015. This was Borough’s final Evo-Stick North League game of the season. Central Midfielder Ben was promoted to the first team squad following some highly impressive performances in the in the NFL Academy. Team boss Danny Johnson said he wanted to give Ben a taste of semi-professional football so he came off the bench in the second half. Ben had really worked hard for the Academy so to come on for the last 30 minutes was like the cherry on the cake for his season. With finances at the club particularly tight developing youth and bringing them through the ranks could well be the key for us next season. Also making his Boro debut in the same game was another former Beechy junior player Daniel McLoughlin who had given Boro the lead against his former club in the 10th minute. Keeping it in the family Ben's younger brother Logan also played for Beechfield United.
