But following a few phone calls Beechy were able to fulfil this home game but at the final whistle were left empty handed after suffering a 4-2 defeat. When the teams previously met on the last weekend in April West Didsbury won an incident packed encounter 5-4 so United were determined to get revenge. But with several key players unavailable Beechy's task was a tough one and though United produced a decent all-round display West Didsbury were the better team. Ben Rothwell was named Man of the Match and on target with goals for United were Wes Pierce and Scott Foulds.
