- U/17's Achieve Trophy Winning Double
Towards the end of April Beechfield United Under 17's were celebrating after winning the Youth Bundesliga Division Cup. Then more than six weeks later the Beechy lads were in cup action again and successfully made it a trophy winning double. In the Timperley and District League United met Old Stretfordians in the final of last seasons originally postponed U/16's Division 3 Cup. Beechy made a dream start in the final played at the home ground of Flixton FC when Charlie Hilton gave them the lead after just thirty seconds. United kept control of the contest for the majority of the first half and went 2-0 up thanks to a brilliantly executed free kick from 25 yards by Ryan Curran. Old Stretfordians reduced the arrears courtesy of an own goal but via a neat finish Callum Frier made it 3-1 just before the break. The second half failed to produce anymore goals as the Under 17's were guilty of some poor finishing plus the Old Stretfordians keeper made several outstanding saves. Overall Beechy thoroughly deserved their victory.
