Due to a heavy fall of snow there were no games played on Saturday & Sunday 3rd/4th March 2018 so lets revisit those dates in 2007 and see what happened in the Junior and Senior Section.
Beechfield United's 2nd Team missed the chance to go back into second place in Division A of the Lancashire and Cheshire League when they were held to a 3-3 draw at home by lowly placed outfit Newton Heath. Pre-match problems didn't help matters when several key-players were unavailable due to various reasons. Newton Heath could hardly believe their luck when at one stage they held at 3-1 lead but United displayed great character and fully deserved to get back on level terms. Goals for United came via Martin Blackshaw (2) and Danny Rowcroft.
There was an easy victory for the 3rd Team as goals by James Ballantyne (2) Philip Arnold, James Butcher and Steven Crowe secured a 5-1 away win over Newton Heath in the Whitehead Cup.
In the Hellawell Shield United's 4th Team were 3-1 winners against Old Ashtonians. United held a 2-0 half time lead but Old Ashtonians got a goal back straight after the restart and the home side then enjoyed their best spell of possession in the match. During the second half Beechy relied heavily on their defensive quartet of Andy Lord, Alex Walton, Luke Martin and Man of the Match Luke Johnston. Callum Wilkinson (2) and Taylor Marshall scored the goals.
United's 1st Team had no fixture.
Beechy Under 16's were beaten 2-1 by Marauders JFC following a hard fought league cup tie in the Timperley and District JFL. It was 0-0 at half time but after Luke Smith had given United a deserved lead Marauders clinched victory with two debatable goals.
In their local derby game with Moorside Rangers in the North Bury Junior League the Under 15's found themselves trailing 3-0 at the interval. Though United created a spirited fightback during the second half they only managed a consolation goal from Ben Rothwell and Rangers eventually ran out 3-1 winners.
The Under 14's suffered a 4-2 defeat following their away game at Woodbank Juniors. 3-0 down early in the second half Beechy quickly reduced the arrears with goals from Daniel McLoughlin and Tom Brown but Woodbank scored again to claim all three points. United's Best Player award went to Luke Scully.
Against current league leaders Fallowfield Rangers the Under 13's played some delightful football and led 1-0 at half time thanks to a Mark Raymond goal. United continued to look highly impressive but against the run of play Rangers hit back to claim a 3-1 victory.
Kieron Hickson was voted Man of the Match after the Under 10's Tornadoes away game with Parkwyddn Tigers in the Supplementary Cup.
The Under 9's Storm enjoyed their first win in nine games when they beat Barr Hill. Man of the Match Adam Leech netted the only goal of the contest.
A top class display by the Under 9's Tornadoes guaranteed a fully deserved victory over Monton Amateurs. In difficult conditions United were always the better team and scored three great goals via William Holliday and Blake Pearson who got his first goal for the team.
In a friendly match between the Under 8's Storm and Under 8's Tornadoes the Storm celebrated victory with goals from Craig Davenport and Joe Roberts.
Away at North Walkden the Under 8's Hurricanes gained a solitary goal victory. Callum Lockett was the match winner following a well executed free kick. George Ogden and Louis Trelfer shared the Best Player award.
