- Junior Section Match Details 4th/5th March 2017
Once again the adverse weather played a major part in the postponement of the majority of fixtures involving Beechfield United Junior and Youth teams. The three games that did survive were all played on Astroturf Pitches.
The Under 17's who switched their cup game with Boothstown Juniors to Ordsall Park secured a place in the Youth Bundesliga Division cup final thanks to a narrow 3-2 victory. United who had home advantage for the semi-final tie held a 2-1 lead at half time thanks to goals from Ezekiel Davenport and Tom Haslem. Early in the second half Boothstown Juniors gave United cause for concern when they got an equalising goal. But the Beechy lads didn't panic and booked their spot in the final when Man of the Match Ryan Curran scored the match winning goal. In the final Beechy will play Hale United Hurricanes.
In the Mini-Soccer Section the two Under 8's games that went ahead were both against teams from Ladybridge FC. The Under 8's Storm met Ladybridge Lions and produced another high scoring display in the Development Group Blue Division. Keeping a clean sheet was a bonus for the Beechy boys who eventually hit double figures. The goals were fired in by Man of the Match Lucas Harris, Henry Jones, Fletcher Jackson and Euan Tierney.
Creating a first-class all-round performance in their Development Group Yellow Division away game with Ladybridge Pumas were Beechy Under 8's Tornadoes who have only lost one game so far in 2017. This was a fully deserved win for the Tornadoes who scored goals via Ethan Harris and Harvey Riva. Star Player was Josh Jenner.
