- U/7's Storm Match Report 2/3/2024
BUFC Beechfield Storm U7 v Moorside Rangers Greens
Beechfield ‘storm’ed to victory in their final game of the Supplementary Tournament winning all 3 to take them to the finals!
Game started with a number of attacking moves going forward with multiple shots going high and wide until Henry really took the game by the scruff taking it round a couple and finishing with his left foot - this was quickly followed by his brace which was a finish acutely with his right (a bit momentous being in training he had been vocal about wanting to get better with it and had been practicing!)!
Archie wanted in on the action and finished with a long range effort nestling into the bottom right but the game was effectively put to bed in the first half by man of the moment Henry who darted in front to intercept the ball and coolly finish past the keeper.
All this was made possible with some great defending by George and in particular Freddie who constantly cut out danger, starting attacks from the back when possible leaving Alfie in goal with not a save to make!
The second half was more challenging as power play was implemented & Beechy did struggle to reach the heights of the first half - Ralph was denied by some good work upfront & a number of shots from George was unlucky not to score as the goal keeper seemed inspired!
Goals did come with Archie getting his hat trick with two finishes which both were superbly placed and following pressure on the defenders a mishap causing an own goal.
James had covered ground well in the first half and was called into action to cover the ball in net with a stingy defence of Alfie, George and Freddie rotating restricted Moorside to only one shot.
A strong performance again by Beechfield Storm who go into next week playing in a new league!
MOTM:
Really could have gone to Henry for his first half goals, Archie for the control and leadership shown in the second though the players gave it to *Freddie* - described as the “Rodri” of the team by one of the players - selfless in possession and faultless in defence providing the platform for the forward players to make the goals that won the game - A well deserved MOTM.
