- Lucky Three Points for U/17's Thunder
Beechfield United Under 17's Thunder were away to Chadderton Park Rangers and following a narrow 3-2 victory made it nine games unbeaten in the Bolton Bury and District League.
For the most part Thunder controlled this Section D fixture but were unable to add the finish to several easy chances. Beechy went a goal down in the 25th minute when following a Chadderton attack down the left wing the hosts won a penalty which was converted. Chadderton Rangers were still leading 1-0 at the break while in the second half Thunder continued to miss chances until the 70th minute when Prince Idusuyi netted Beechy's equaliser. Tom Cox gave Thunder the lead after his inswinging corner beat the Chadderton keeper and five minutes later Tom was involved again when after cutting in from the left saw his effort on target saved by the hosts keeper but Beechy's Man of the Match Samuel Oludoyi slotted home the rebound for 3-1. Thunder then faced a nervy final few minutes when Chadderton scored their second goal with five minutes to go. Beechy have a nine point lead at the top of the table but were lucky to take all three points from this game.
