The first fifteen minutes of this Division 1 fixture were evenly balanced however United eventually took the lead after winger Scott Foulds broke through and calmly rounded the keeper before adding an easy finish for 1-0. Beechy welcomed back Max Leonard their top scorer for the last three seasons and Max grabbed two first half goals to give Beechy a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break. In the second half West Didsbury continued to face heavy United pressure but the visitors were gifted a way back into the game via a controversial free kick but almost immediately Beechy regained control and Issiaka Saba made it 4-1 then defender Hal Birtles added the fifth goal. Both Max Leonard and Scott Foulds were rewarded with hat-tricks as United dominated the game throughout the second period. Oliver Quinn was on target with Beechy's ninth goal and West Didsbury's second goal was no more that a consolation.
