Games involving Beechfield United Mini-Soccer, 9v9 and 11-a -side teams on Saturday 11th March 2023 produced a varied selection of results.

*Beechy Under 7's THUNDER got back to winning ways following their away game against Salford Storm Tornadoes. In what was Thunder's most assured performance of the season Beechy soon settled into the game and took the lead via George Kelly who fired a free kick over Salford's defensive wall into the top corner of the net. Thunder increased their lead with an own goal then Man of the Match Chase Sixsmith who had a great game came onto the pitch and scored the third goal from close range. Jude Bond capped off a series of fine performances recently when he netted Beechy's fourth and final goal to complete the scoring. A lot of plaudits have gone to forwards throughout the season but goalkeeper Oscar Spencer and defenders Grayson Owen and Harry Wright bring a calmlness that gives the team a platform to play.

*Thanks to a good overall performance the Under 8's STORM won their away game at Swinton Warriors. This league fixture was played in totally the right spirit and in a fairly even first half Storm created some very good football. Just after ten minutes Beechy took the lead via Harry Heathcote-Ciare who scored a similar goal running from defence and slotting the ball home to give Storm a two goal advantage. Swinton Warriors managed to pull a goal back against the run of play just before half time. In the second half Beechy had most of the ball as they limited Warriors to only a few chances and Bobby Lowe was on target with Storm's third goal which guaranteed the victory. Man of the Match was Kade Doyle who displayed good work on the ball plus he was unlucky not to get himself a goal.

*Resuming their league games were the Under 9's TORNADOES who were in action away at Parkwyddn Eagles and it was the hosts goalscoring ability the difference between the two teams. Beechy's Man of the Match was goalkeeper Jayden Royle who during the match made a terrific penalty save.

*At home to Monton Sports the Under 11's THUNDER (9v9) secured a 3-2 victory thanks to a superb all-round team performance. In the Yellow Group Beechy on the attack straight from the kick-off and but for a fine display by the Monton goalkeeper Thunder could have hit double figures. Ajab Fakeeh gave Beechy the lead then during a goalmouth scramble Roman Jackson made it 2-0 with his first goal for the team. Thunder's third goal arrived before half time when Kristian Georgiev who was positioned at the back post slotted the ball home from close range. The second half produced a similar pattern and after Monton registered their first shot on target Beechy's stand-in keeper Josh Kellett made a fine save. Monton reduced the arrears when they were awarded a dubious penalty and the visitors scored a second goal after Thunder switched off a little but Beechy fully deserved the win due to their excellent display.

*The Salford and Districts League Under 12's (9v9) Division 1 game between Beechy STORM and Salford United Stars was a feisty affair. Once again the Beechy Boys gave 100% committment and playing some great football displayed a great team spirit. Nobody could fault the players for showing passion and emotion and though Storm held the lead for the majority of the game at the final whistle were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline. Beechy deserved at least a draw but they failed to defend as a team after conceding several corners. Elijah Knott was Man of the Match and on target with the goals for Storm were Roman Sandaji and Mikel Omotayo.

*Without an official Bolton Bury and District League fixture Beechfield United Under 16's TYPHOON managed to arrange a friendly match with Culcheth Cobras and at home on their Astroturf Pitch Beechy had the best periods of the first half. As they continually threatened via the counter-attack Thunder opened the scoring through Will Bentham from an excellent through ball by Reece James. In the second half Beechy relaxed their grip on the contest and Culcheth responded and equalised when keeper Peter Ellis produced a tremendous save but it was to no avail after Typhoon conceded from the resulting corner. However Beechy rediscovered their rhythm and could have won the game but three fantastic chances went begging. Typhoon's defenders played very well throughout and Milonga Mututa pipped full backs Ryan Law and Liam Peers for the Man of the Match award. This was a good run out for the Beechy Boys who will need to convert their chances if the want to turn good performances into wins. (Result Typhoon 1 v Culcheth 1)

*In the Supplementary Cup the Under 14's HURRICANES went on a long journey regarding their away game with Hough End Griffins Lions. A few enforced team changes were made and Beechy who lost the tie went a goal down following the hosts first effort on target. The Hurricanes equalised when a decisive move created a goalmouth melee and great determination by JJ Lowery set-up the chance for Henry Errington to score from close range. On the uneven playing surface the first half remained competitive and a 1-1 scoreline at the break was a fair reflection on play so far. But Beechy found themselves 2-1 down when a free kick from just over the halfway line was caught in the wind and the ball bounced into the area then into the net. The Hurricanes looked shell-shocked when they failed to clear the ball out of the danger zone and a Hough End midfield player added the hosts third goal with a great finish. Following a corner Beechy keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker made two good saves but he couldn't stop the third effort and Hough End went 4-1 up. There was chaos again in the Hurricanes area as two attempted clearances deflected off other Beechy players allowing a simple tap in which gave the scoreline an unfairly one-sided look. A long ball released the Hough End main striker and he forced a save from Oliver Dalton-Bunker who was unable to stop the rebound from ending up in the net as the hosts completed the scoring. Jacob Revell was voted Hurricanes Man of the Match. (Result Hough End 6 v Beechy Hurricanes 1)
