*Beechfield Storm U8's v Moorside Rangers Green*

Salford and Districts Junior League

Storm restarted their league game with a strong performance - missing a number of squad players the team started and finished with the same 5 - Vincent in net, Reggie and George at the back with Imad and Henry in midfield.

Storm looked the strongest in the early moments - both Imad and Henry combining with slick 1-2s and having shots on goal. Reggie who was given creative duties from the back conducting feeding in Imad who let fly from distance unfortunately missing the mark.

The breakthrough came from one of two magical individual goals - Henry picking the ball in midfield ghosted past two players and laced the ball into the back of the net.

Moorside reacted well- a big kick from their goal keeper wrong-footing the defence called Vincent into action who blocked from close range.

As a reaction Reggie again incisive passing range on show picking Imad who raced down the left, shooting top right resulting in an incredible diving save by Moorsides keeper.

Imad who was visibly determined to get on the scoresheet had Reggie again place a through ball - picking it up, placed the ball into the bottom left.

Beechy starting to tire gave away a dangerous free kick on the edge of the box, the Moorside striker hitting it low and blind sighting Vincent who had looked solid throughout to bring the Rangers back into the game.

On the stroke of half time it was Storm's top goal scorer who produced a moment of sublime skill. Back to goal he swivelled past one, a cryuf turn and blasted the ball past the goal keeper in a move allegedly practiced in his back garden…

The second half started in a way that put the game to bed; Henry and Imad 1-2ing from kick off & henners to get his brace with a beautiful finish with his left.

George who really started to come into his own in the second half had been making some dangerous runs in - found by Imad his shot from close range was saved. However shortly after a ball from reg into Henry, Henry feeding George who put the ball into the net for a rare goal for storms usual defensive enforcer.

Storm then had to dig in, defensively Reggie and George mopped everything thrown at them - a distance free kick looking destined for the back of the net was picked by Vincent and acrobatically saved to push it over.

Determined to keep the scoreline down, a Moorside striker went through and it took another brilliant cover from Reggie and Vince to get the ball out.

Tired legs by the end and some good football Storm continued their run.

MOTM:
Split vote - firstly going to *Reggie* for a complete performance in defence with his passing range well on show creating a lot of chances for the attackers. Also *Vincent* for a brilliant and astute performance making some critical saves.
