Beechfield United Reserves team squad travelled to play Boothstown Reserves for an Open Trophy quarter-final tie on Saturday 14th March 2020 and booked their place in the semi-finals thanks to a convincing 4-1 victory.

United took the lead in the 10th minute when leading goal scorer Callum Davies punished a glaring mistake by the Boothstown centre half and as tensions ran high the hosts found an equaliser ten minutes later. Just before half time Beechy midfield ace Keenan Switzer sent a perfect through ball to Callum Davies who produced an in-form strikers finish as he put United 2-1 up. The second half was a much tighter affair in the midfield area with tackles flying in from all angles and Beechy found themselves down to ten men but Boothstown's attempt to take advantage of having the extra player didn't go according to plan.

Another defensive mistake gifted United a 3-1 lead when Danny Lee won possession and after playing a lovely 1-2 with Callum Davies slammed the ball past the keeper. Boothstown heads started to drop and once again as they tried to pass the ball around at the back the hosts were punished yet again. Quick thinking by Man of the Match Callum Davies saw him rob a Boothstown defender of the ball before he calmly rounded the hosts keeper and completed the scoring with his hat trick goal.
