First home game for the Thunder boys in the newly constructed Blue Group. Having beaten today's opponents in a previous encounter the boy's were looking for a repeat performance. The game started very even with both teams creating chances on goal and bobby was needed making a great save to keep Thunder from going behind. JBAS were looking for the counter from constant Thunder pressure and it came midway through the half with their striker finishing well from a through ball that found it's way past the Thunder defence. Thunder continued to pile on the pressure and Finley found himself in a 1 on 1 with the keeper and his relentless running to get to the ball first paid off as his reflected shot found its way past the JBAS keeper to level the game up.
Thunder started to create some more chances with Ralph, Che and José having good passages of play and Elliot finding space down the wing, firing in some good crosses. Into the second half and Gio made some good defensive challenges to keep JBAS out of the Thunder penalty area. Angelo began to find pockets of space in the middle of the pitch making some good runs and José was making himself a constant nuisance upfront for the JBAS defence. With Che rested and called back into action it was his pressure and great play that led to José hitting Thunder's second goal and shortly after a third followed stunning the JBAS defence. JBAS managed to claw one back but Thunder with a double ⚡ strike fired in a fourth and fifth in quick succession to see the Thunder boys gain a healthy lead. JBAS managed to pull one back but Thunder saw the game out to a fully desered victory. Some excellent performances from the lads today who fought for a much needed victory after going though a tough run of results recently.
