Stretford Victoria U11 Albion versus Beechfield Utd U11 Tornadoes 15/3/2025

The Tornadoes been playing well the last few weeks but not been getting the results that their play at times has deserved. We faced a Stretford side today that beat us on penalties in the cup 3 weeks ago after a draw, so we knew we had a chance of getting a result today if we were at our very best.

We started really well, Grayson Evans came close early on before Jayden Lowe gave us a deserved lead with a fine volley after Alex McGrory's pass. We made it two shortly after when a Ralph Theaker corner hit the top of the bar before breaking to Mason Stockton on the left. Mason found Jayden again with a superb cross and Jayden controlled and finished well. Jayden then had a chance for a first half hat trick but put his shot agonisingly wide when through. Shortly after the third goal arrived, Alex again with the assist this time for Dawood Fakeeh to fire home.

Stretford were not without chances themselves but we defended well on the whole in the first half, Sam Omoregie and Reuben McCormick marshalling the centre of defence, and Ty Dobson in goal was superb when called upon. Stretford did pull one back just before the break when we failed to clear a corner. We deservedly led at half time.

At half time we talked about how we needed to keep up the intensity throughout the 2nd half. Just after the break Stretford had the chance but were denied by a superb point blank save from Beechy keeper Ty. Ty was again at the heart of the action a couple of minutes later when an Ederson-like long kick forward found Grayson Evans who beat the offside trap and finished well as Beechy led by three goals. Shortly after Stretford reduced the arrears with a scruffy effort.

The game was end to end at this time and the next goal would be key, fortunately we got it. Alex McGrory again linked up with Dawood who scored his 2nd, and a 3rd assist for Alex, as we led by three goals. The game was wide open for the last 10-15 minutes, Stretford committed bodies forward and had chances but we had countless chances of our own. We made added our sixth goal when another superb corner from Ralph found Grayson who poked home for his 2nd of the match. Stretford never gave up and scored again shortly after.

The Tornadoes could have had another five goals in the last 5 minutes. Jayden, Grayson and Dawood all on hat tricks, missed some guilt edged opportunities as the game was stretched. Eventually we got a seventh goal with virtually the last kick as Dawood finished well to get his hat trick and our first win since January.

We thoroughly deserved the win today, in truth it has been coming after some good performances over the last few weeks that have been unrewarded, so congratulations to the team!

Player of the Match was so tough today. Special shouts out to Ty with a great performance and assist in goal. Reuben and Sam were magnificent in centre of defence. Mason was solid and a threat going forward with a superb assist. Alex McGrory was his usual tenacious self and cool on the ball providing a hat trick of assists. All 3 goalscorers were tremendous, Dawood with the hat trick and Grayson and Jayden probably should have had hat trick of their own. But Player of the Match went to Ralph Theaker who has been playing well, improving the last few games and he put in a great showing today both defensively, and in attacking sense. His corners today were a great asset to us, one leading to a goal and he also hit the bar and came close with a free kick. Well done Ralph, but more importantly well done to the whole team. Each and every one of you should be proud of yourselves today, let's keep this level of performance up until the end of the season and kick on. Go Beechy! 🙂⚽️
