POSTED: March 18 2025 11:34:19 By Keith Long - Junior Section Match Details 22/3/2025

Conditions were ideal for football on Saturday 22nd March 2025 plus there were some winning performances from a few Junior Section teams.

*There was another outstanding display by Beechy Under 10's THUNDER in the Manchester Youth Super League. At the leagues central venue Thunder were in acton against B Pro Football Jets and Beechy's goalscoring ability was the key to their latest success. Thunder's Manager Mark Newby said after the game that he was super pleased that the Beechy Boys are enjoying their football and playing with a smile on their faces. Sonny Phillips, Harley Cosgrove-Newby, Deo WaiWai and Jack Steele got the goals for Thunder.

*The Under 10's STORM had just eight players available for their Salford and Districts Junior League Red Group fixture with Salford United Juniors. This mini-soccer game that included twelve goals produced a winning scoreline for Storm who's squad for the match was George Savage, Isaac Hargreaves, Harry Chambers, Oscar Berry, Jacob Foster, Bobby Lowe, Alfie Heighway and Seth Barber. Goalscorers were Seth, Bobby, Oscar, Harry and Isaac and assists for the goals came via Seth, Bobby, Harry and Isaac.

*Starting their game against Boundary Park with no real intensity the Under 11's LIGHTNING (9v9) quickly found themselves three goals down. Things were not looking good but Beechy won a corner around the twenty minute mark and Kayson Gregg wrapped his foot around the ball and looped it over the keeper to reduce the arrears. The goal gave Lightning's players a lot of confidence and they managed to build up some pressure but just before the break Boundary Park got a fourth goal. The Beechy Boys responded to an encouraging half time talk and beginning the second half fighting looked a differnt team. Kayson Gregg got his second goal ater he beat two defenders and slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net then Kayson completed his hat- trick firing a long range effort in off the post. Playing their best football of the game Lightning equalised when Henry Dunn latched onto an Austin Filligham long range pass and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper. With ten minutes remaining the game was end to end but unfortunately for the Beechy Boys Boundary Park scored two more goals and won the game. Lightning Manager James Fillingham said he was proud of all the players and that was the best half of football his team had played in the two years he has been the coach. Special mentions go to Ollie Simpson, Michael Schofield, George Richardson, Crewe Reeves, Eshan Shanahan, Junior Davies and Finlay Thompson for ther battling performance and James Hardman for his commanding goalkeeping. Man of the Match was Kayson Gregg for the three excellent goals and his drive from midfield.

*For the second time in seven days in the Salford and Districts Junior League Beechy Under 15's TORNADOES played Sale United Sabres. Once again the Tornadoes let themselves down due to bad defensive mistakes, poor decision making and awful finishing. Although there were some good passages of play from Beechy in this Division 2 fixture the overall standard just wasn't good enough. Jayden Hoye scored the consoation goal for the Tornadoes who lost the game 6-1.

*In their Yellow Group away game against Deans Youth Tigers the Under 8's TORNADOES produced some new level passing and movement and this was clear to see for the team coaches. All the hard work on drills and confidence building reaped the rewards with some superb passing, positioning and goals. A good all round day in the Salford and Districts Junior League for the Tornadoes who's goalscorers were Brayden Gilligan, Billy Boyd, Ronnie Sangster and Kayden Knight.

*At Beech Farm Playing Fields Beechy Under 9's THUNDER were at home to Baguley Athletic in a fixture reversed from a couple of weeks back. On a bright and sunny Saturday morning this Red Group encounter turned out to be another thoroughly enjoyable game of football. The teams were evenly matched throughout the first half in which both defences dominated. Harry Wright, Grayson Owen and Antonio Embalo kept the Baguley Boys at bay with some tremendous tackling and composed play but the visitors took the lead they held at half time via a good finish following a corner. In the second half it was mostly Beechy who put heavy pressure on the opposition and one thing Thunder have in abundance is pace. Twins Harrison and Oscar Spencer, Tiffany Kandemiri and Chase Sixsmith were running at and beating Baguley players only for the finish to evade them and one effort by Jude Bond just cleared the crossbar. Goalkeeper George Kelly's distribution was finding players in attacking positions and on one occasion Tiffany Kandemiri won possession and after going past a couple of defenders saw her shot hit the post but Tiffany was able to net the rebound for Thunder's equaliser. Beechy's Player of the Match was Antonio Embalo for his tireless work rate and great skills.
