- Supplementary Cup Win For U/15's Hurricanes
After two postponed games Beechy Under 15's Hurricanes were back in Supplementary Cup action on Saturday 16th March 2024 when they met local rivals Barr Hill at home.
*The Hurricanes secured a 4-2 victory after an incident packed eighty minutes that included some bizarre decisions from the match official. JJ Lowery had a valid goal disallowed before Beechy took the lead when Henry Errington scored from the penalty spot then Alfie Rostron doubled the Hurricanes lead when he added a great finish from his position on the right wing. As they continued to dominate the game Beechy went 3-0 up via Rafael Djacy who netted a rebound off the post following an effort from JJ Lowery. A superb solo run and finish by Alfie Rostron made it 4-0 to give the Hurricanes a commanding lead but Beechy relaxed their grip on the game and Barr Hill reduced the arrears with their first real chance. Within two minutes an error at the back gifted Barr Hill their second goal before half time so the Hurricanes knew they had work to do in the second half. There were no more goals during the next forty minutes but in the dying seconds Owen Hogben was fouled in the area and though the referee awarded the penalty he blew for full time before the spot-kick could be taken. Jamie Maher was named the Hurricanes Man of the Match.
