Securing their place in the semi-final of the Players Cup were the Under 16's Tornadoes who were away to Bromley Cross Lions for this quarter-final tie. In the Bolton Bury and District League Beechy produced some first-class soccer throughout the contest and celebrated a 4-2 win. The Tornadoes who led 2-0 at half time scored goals through Nick Crawshaw, Mason White, Travis Walker and Joe Furlong.
Making it three games unbeaten were the Under 15's Storm who's latest triumph was a 7-4 away victory over Flixton Junior Falcons. After taking a 4-0 lead into the second half the Beechy boys suffered a few defensive lapses but Storm always bossed the game and collected three fully deserved points. Man of the Match was Will Timmins and goals for Beechy came courtesy of Jason Smith (4) Callum Lomax, Will Bloor and Tyler Davies.
Matthew Bennett fired in a consolation goal for the Under 13's Tornadoes in their Salford and District League Division 1 away game with Salford Lads. The teams Man of the Match Award went to Billy Wadeson following Beechy's 6-1 defeat.
For their third successive away game the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) travelled to play Deans Youth Panthers in the Supplementary Tournament. Ronan Courtney netted the only goal for Beechy who unfortunately suffered a 5-1 defeat.
At Beech Farm Playing Fields the Under 12's Thunder (9v9) met Deans Youth Tigers in the Supplementary Tournament and played well for most of the game. In a ten minute spell just before half time Beechy allowed Deans too much time on the ball and conceded four goals. Producing a positive fightback in the second half the Thunder deservedly scored three goals through Reiss Miller, Prince Idusuyi and Jake Glass. But United conceded another goal that secured Deans Tigers a 5-3 victory. Liam Cremins was Beechy's Star Player.
The Under 11's Tornadoes (9v9) had home advantage for their Supplementary Tournament C match against neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellows. The Tornadoes who lost the tie that produced seven goals gave their Best Player Award to Adam Wood who got both Beechy goals.
On Sunday morning at Salford Sports Village Beechy Under 11's Storm (9v9) hit top form in their Supplementary Tournament B away game with Manchester Maccabi. Man of the Match Cameron Booth, Jayden Okoli, Kaiden McClean, Oliver Lawton and Tawab Ogunleye were on target for the Storm who scored four goals in each half.
In the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 10's Hurricanes played Lourdes Thunder in a Festival Cup match. Josh Clough, Tom Worthington, Ole Kerwin and Harley Mullen were the goalscorers for Beechy who won this ten goal encounter. James Taylor collected the Star Player Award.
There was a second successive score draw for the Under 10's Lightning following their away fixture at Boothstown Clarets. In this Supplementary Tournament D tie Beechy hit goals via Man of the Match David Olidoy, Sam Henderson and Charlie Harris. United lost a penalty shoot-out that took place after the match.
A superb all-round performance by the Under 10's Typhoon comfortably saw off De La Salle Rangers. This Supplementary Tournament C match was played in beautiful sunshine and Beechy's first-class display earned them a fully deserved victory. Cole Winstanley led the attack majestically and was rewarded with a fine hat trick while Joseph Bothamley scored his first two goals of the season. Following a season's best performance in midfield Harley Bentley was named the Typhoon's Star Player.
Despite a great performance the Under 10's Storm lost their Supplementary Tournament A away game with Ladybridge Hurricanes. Against the run of play the home team took the lead and were still a goal up at half time. Shortly after the restart the Storm got an equaliser through Freddie Jackson but thanks to a goal in the last five minutes Ladybridge won the tie. It was a difficult choice regarding the Man of the Match Award but the honour went to Reece James.
Beechy Under 8's Hurricanes were the only mini-soccer team with a home game on Saturday. The Hurricanes entertained AFC Monton Wolves and made progress in the Supplementary Tournament after a convincing victory. Man of the Match Lloyd Hiles and Nathan Derbyshire got the goals.
Following a real end to end entertaining contest the Under 8's Tornadoes shared eight goals with opponents Barr Hill Aces. Harvey Riva, Ethan Harris, Man of the Match Charlie Backhouse (plus an own goal) were on target in this Supplementary Tournament tie. With the game finishing as a draw the teams were involved a penalty shoot out which was won by Barr Hill.
Suffering a rare defeat were the Under 8's Storm who were away in the Supplementary Tournament to local rivals Moorside Rangers Green. In the match that featured thirteen goals the Storm's goalscorers were Fletcher Jackson, Harry Jones, Ewan Tierney and Lucas Harris. Voted Best Player was Oliver Dalton-Bunker.
Leading goalscorer Alfie Lacey scored a consolation goal for the Under 7's Tornadoes during their Supplementary Tournament away fixture with Deans Sports. Daire Cox received the Star Player Accolade.
Producing an highly impressive performance were Beechy Under 7's Storm who early in the Supplementary Tournament B tie with Majic Sports Eagles found themselves two goals down. On a very poor pitch the Storm players showed a real fighting spirit and responded with four good goals that secured the win. Following an outstanding display goalkeeper Shay Winstanley was chosen as the Storm's Man of the Match. The goals were fired home by Noah Thorndyke, Harry Whitter and Logan Holland.
