Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior Team were in action twice within three days and tasted defeat in midweek but rediscovered the winning formula at the weekend. On Wednesday 26th April 2017 Beechy met Hazel Grove in the final of the Steeles Shield but United failed to bring home the winners trophy following a 3-0 defeat. Team: John Bolton, Kane Brannigan, Ben Donohue, Daniel Eckersley, Liam Foster, Scott Foulds, David Harrison, Callum Holmes, Dan Lee, Wes Pierce, Damon Whitbread. Substitutes: Ian Black, Roy Owen, Kyle Walton.

Then on Saturday Beechy ended the 2016/2017 season with a 6-3 home win over Baguley Athletic and thanks to the three points United were guaranteed fourth place in the First Division table. United's first half performance was less than impressive and at one stage they found themselves 3-0 down but a goal by Wes Pierce reduced the arrears before half time. Thankfully it was a different story in the second half as Beechy totally dominated the match and scored five top quality goals via Kane Brannigan (2) Danny Browne, Scott Foulds and Wes Pierce.
