- Junior Section Match Details 4/5/2024
There was a fairly busy Saturday morning in the Junior Section and producing another fantastic performance in the Salford and Districts League were Beechy Under 9's Storm.
*The Under 9's STORM were at home against Monton Sports in the Red Group and it was exhibition stuff for most of the game. There were no goals in the first half but following a reshuffle after the break Beechy managed to convert their chances. The Monton goalkeeper made several good saves while following a cool and confident display Jacob Foster was voted the parents Man of the Match. Harry Chambers was at his best again, bombing forward at every opportunity and he scored a brilliant goal. Both Alfie Heighway and Isaac Hargreaves were quality in midfield as they managed the game. Oscar Pugh who's confidence grows every week won the foul in the area and converted the resulting penalty. Kade Doyle was unlucky not to score but he made good use of the ball and created several chances. Man of the Match went to Harry Heathcote-Clare who really stepped up in this game and he got the team going with his goal.
*Involved in another high scoring 9v9 match in the Blue Group were Beechy Under 11's TORNADOES. Lucio Riva, Zack MacKinnon, Luke Bennett, Max Blood, Daniel Badewa, and Ralph Phillips got the goals as Tornadoes created a superb all-round performance against Moorside Rangers Blues.
*Beechy Under 10's LIGHTNING met Salford Storm Tsunami at Stott Lane and this was a really close game with lots of chances for both teams. Salford Storm took the lead near the end of the first half via a soft goal when after a number of sliced clearances the ball ended up in the Beechy net. After the goal the Beechy Boys worked hard for an equaliser and were convinced they would get a result. Lightning were on top in the second half but despite playing the better football a goal continued to elude them. An effort by Eshan Shanahan hit the post following a free kick and George Richardson had a shot cleared off the line. Against the run of play Salford Storm added a second goal though Beechy kept attacking and three times in a short space of time shots from Austin Fillingham went agonisingly close. Salford Storm netted their third goal with minutes to go and despite more attempts to score Lightning just couldn't find a goal. Kayson Gregg and Charlie Durie who were Beechy's leaders on the pitch shared the Man of the Match award.
*For their Division 4 fixture the Under 12's THUNDER (9v9) were away to Salford Storm Thunderbolts who had become Beechy's bogey team. The Thunderbolts had won the three previous games between the teams but on this occasion Thunder gained revenge following a great all-round performance. Beechy took the lead within five minutes when Ajab Fakeeh set-up Theo McNulty who made a great run before adding a cool finish for 1-0. The roles were reversed for Thunder's second goal after Theo's pass found Ajab who's initial effort was saved but he easily netted the rebound. Producing another trademark run Theo McNulty was on target again with goal number three when he controlled a pass from Max Donovan and finished from a tight angle. The Beechy Boys were warned at half time about a possible Thunderbolts comeback and after making a bright start in the second half the hosts got a goal back. But Thunder soon regained control and went 4-1 up through Ajab Fakeeh who from well outside the area squeezed the ball between the keepers legs. With the last kick of the game Theo McNulty completed his hat-trick and the scoring following great play by Samuel Sulmataj. This was a fantastic display from Thunder who on another day could have hit double figures. Result Salford Storm 1 versus Beechy Thunder 5.
*In their Division 6 away game with Baguley Athletic White the Under 12's TORNADOES (9v9) flew out of the traps and completely outplayed their opponents for the whole of the first half. Two goals from Emmanuel Roland and a goal by Mahan Mirzakhani gave the Tornadoes a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time. But following a couple of defensive errors Beechy gifted the hosts two quick goals at the start of the second half. Unfortunately the Tornadoes heads dropped and taking control Baguley Athletic added another four goals and ran out 6-3 winners.
