Beechfield United's First Team Squad made the short trip to play neighbours and champions elect Prestwich Heys on Tuesday evening 2nd May 2017 looking to build on their previous victory at the weekend. Playing against the wind in the first half United struggled to get any type of foothold in this Division 1 game against a physical Heys outfit who asserted a lot of pressure via long throws and set-pieces. In the 25th minute another set-piece caused all sorts of problems for United's back four and an unmarked Prestwich Heys striker fired the ball home for 1-0 to the home side. Heys doubled their lead ten minutes later when the ball was accurately delivered behind Beechy's defence allowing the pacey striker to run clear before rounding United keeper Robert Harrison and slotting the ball into an empty net.

United boasting 95 league goals before this game rarely threatened other than a Rob Lockley header which was well saved and 2-0 down at the break Beechy were faced with an uphill task in the second half. A couple of changes were made that saw Mike Phythian playing at right back and United started well creating a few half chances. Alfie Belcher caused Heys problems with his tricky footwork and surging runs but just when Beechy began to get some joy Heys scored a third goal via the counter attack. An accurate cross to the back post found an unmarked Heys forward who was left with an easy close range finish. Despite the further setback Beechy continued to play some good football and United were awarded a free kick following a foul on Alfie Belcher. Captain Jamie Sinnott stepped forward and superbly hammered the ball home into the top corner to make it 3-1 and game on.

Jamie Sinnott and Alfie Belcher continued to cause Heys problems and the latter saw one fine effort go straight at the keeper before another effort from 20 yards hit the crossbar after some great link up play. With ten minutes remaining a sloppy pass at the back allowed the alert Heys striker a free run and he lifted the ball over Robert Harrison for 4-1 and wrap up the points for the hosts. United's next fixture is on Saturday 6th May when they travel again to play Chapel Town.
