- Junior Match Details 1st/2nd/3rd/5th/6th May
In the Bolton Bury and District League Beechfield United Under 15's Tornadoes who were away to local rivals Moorside Rangers Yellows lost the match 3-2. In this Section B fixture Beechy trailed 2-1 but despite a much better performance in the second half the Tornadoes were unable to force at least a draw. Man of the Match Jeanny Le Blanc netted both goals.
The in-form Under 14's Tornadoes made it six wins on the trot following a 6-3 away win over Barr Hill on Wednesday 2nd May and the three points lifted Beechy up to third place in the Section E table. Man of the Match Ellis Kenny, Cael Malloy, Harry Fletcher, Mathew Bennett and Fernley Davies (2) scored the goals for the Tornadoes who led 2-1 at half time.
On Sunday morning the Under 13's Tornadoes played their penultimate Division 2 fixture in the Salford and District League. Beechy were involved in a high scoring home game with Manchester Maccabi Broughton and celebrated a 5-4 victory. Ace marksman Alan Kay (Hat-Trick) and Max Chidgey with two goals secured the win while the Man of the Match award went to Joe Hope who filled in brilliantly at left back.
Also in Division 2 the Under 13's Thunder were in action against De La Salle Reds at Bolton Road and despite not hitting top form in this Saturday morning game still had enough all-round quality to win the match 6-0. A joint Man of the Match award went to James Quinn-Alcock who produced a hard working display and Thunder's talisman Prince Idusuyi for achieving yet another Hat-Trick that brought his tally so far this season to an amazing 49 goals. Also on target for Thunder was William Whipday with two goals.
Away to De La Salle Devils in midweek the Under 13's Storm lost for the first time in eight games when they were on the wrong end of a 5-1 score line. There was an excellent individual performance from Man of the Match Damion Broughton who also scored the teams consolation goal.
In what has proved to be a difficult and demanding season in the Salford and District League the Under 12's Storm (9v9) squad players have always given total commitment despite facing some tough opponents. United's latest Division 1 match was at home against De La Salle Reds and Beechy suffered a 4-1 defeat. Ben Delaney netted the only goal and Jaydon Okoli was voted Best Player.
The Under 11's Storm (9v9) saved their best performance of the season when they met cup finalists Fives Athletic away in the Development Group Red Division. Beechy's display was even more impressive because they only had eight players available and the Storm won the game by the odd goal in five. Josh McLoughlin and Freddie Jackson got the goals and there were stand-out performances from all the players including Reilly Happy and Fletcher Jackson who shared the Man of the Match award.
Missed chances and slack defending ruined the chances of victory for the Under 11's Typhoon (9v9) who were away to Winton JFC Yellow. Man of the Match was Joseph Bothamley and goal scorers for Beechy who unfortunately lost the game were Cole Winstanley and Charlie Harris.
Beechy Under 11's Lightning (9v9) had a Sunday fixture against Manchester Maccabi Wildcats and following this away game went home empty handed. The teams Star Player was Lucas Wood.
Both Under 10's teams were in action at Beech Farm Playing Fields on Saturday morning. The Tornadoes took on De La Salle Reds who play in a higher Division and it was an evenly balanced encounter for the first twenty minutes. The Tornadoes produced the better football and always built their attacks from the back but Beechy failed to score any goals. Edward Hughes collected the Man of the Match award.
Davyhulme Park JFC were the Storm's opponents and it was the visitors who secured a narrow victory. Goals for Beechy came via Grace Belcher, James Cadwalader and Edward Lucas who was named Man of the Match. Special mention goes to Oliver Cowley who played for Davyhulme Park after one of their players got injured.
Daniel Robinson, Sean Cosgrove and Alfie Latham were on target for Beechy Under 9's Hurricanes in their Development Group Yellow Division home game with Barr Hill Aces. Receiving the Man of the Match award was Dillian Caldwell. The Hurricanes squad for this fixture also included Jaiesh Devani-White, Jamie Maher, Oliver Dalton-Bunker and Prestley Smith.
In the Development Group Blue Division the Under 9's Tornadoes produced another excellent all-round display but Beechy lost the away game at Parkwyddn Predators. A consolation goal by Ethan Harris was scant reward for the players wholehearted commitment in heatwave conditions.
Producing a brilliant performance were the Under 8's Storm who met AFC Monton Cobras at home in the Development Group Blue Division. Top-class finishing and passing plus excellent movement off the ball were the key elements that earned Storm a fully deserved victory. Both goalkeepers Frankie Carter and Shay Winstanley who netted a goal apiece were outstanding. The Storm's other goal scorers were Man of the Match Ronnie Pinckney-Thompson, Riley Haney and Noah Thorndyke.
The friendly match between Beechy Under 8's Lightning and Moorside Rangers Purple was a close fought contest. Brodie Mundy got the only goal for Lightning who suffered a narrow defeat and Kaylon Salisbury was Beechy's Man of the Match following a superb performance.
Playing twice within less than two days were the Under 8's Tornadoes who had home advantage against AFC Salford Wolves. George Wadeson was named Best Player and Alfie Lacey scored United's only goal in the Saturday game. Previously on Thursday evening the Tornadoes were away to Urmston Town Storm and two goals by Daire Cox plus one from Stewart Kay guaranteed Beechy the victory. Man of the Match was Flinn Rogers.
