BEECHFIELD VS WINTON WANDERERS

today on a sunny morning down at beechfarm, Beechfield Hurricanes u9s welcomed Winton Wanderers u9s. After coming away from a Great cup run it was time to return to the league. Steve and Ian decided to change the team up a little to see how the boys got on in different positions.

with a change of team beechfield won the toss and captain for the day Lewis got the game under away with the kick off. both teams were up for the game with breaks coming from both teams with it being end to end football. with Jenson up front chasing the ball to try and win it for the team. with Lewis commanding the centre of the field winton played a long ball up to the front of the pitch and with beechfields main striker giving it ago in defence made a couple of clearances but this time winning a great header and the loosing balance due to getting a push in the side the ball landed to the feet of the winton striker who slotted the ball home early on in the game.

with beechfield restarting the game they never let there heads go down and the boys kept battling hard with chances coming from Lewis, Ethan and Jenson also with Finn just putting it slightly wide but with wintons goal keeper making some great saves keeping then in the lead.

with 2nd half getting started and with Steve taking charge and changing the team back to the positions the kids were most comfortable with mason going back upfront winning the ball high and making some dangerous runs to the box. Kenny taking control at the back and bringing Myles onto the left hand side of midfield. beechfield found there second gear and had winton on the back foot with pressure after pressure finally got a breakthrough and after save after save by the winton keeper, Myles finally found the top corner to bring the game back level.

with the game all square both teams were then looking for the winner and with both teams attacking one after another beechfields keeper Charlie come running out making a great save to keep the game at 1-1.

with full time ending 1-1 both teams played absolutely amazing, both teams should be both proud for the effort and fair play they both put in on the field and at full time
