- Five Goal Prince Steals The Show
Ace marksman Prince Idusuyi netted five goals as Beechfield United Under 17's Thunder secured a vital three points with a 6-2 away win over Tintwistle Athletic.
*In the Bolton Bury and District League Beechy who remain top of Section D have one game still to play which is away at second placed team Stretford Victoria on 21/5/2022. Thunder took the lead against Tintwistle within the first thirty seconds when Prince Idusuyi punished a mix-up in the home teams defence. But less than ten minutes later Tintwistle equalised after a mix-up of their own when Thunder's keeper was caught in two minds allowing a shot he thought was going wide to end up in the Beechy net. But the Beechy players quickly kept their heads in focus and playing their high energy game didn't allow Tintwistle hardly any time on the ball.
Following a couple of decent free kicks which were just off target Thunder regained the lead after a fantastic defence splitting pass from Jack Davies set-up Prince Idusuyi who supplied another clinical finish. Thunder continued to show why they are league leaders with their high intensity game and Prince Idusuyi put Beechy 3-1 up when he completed his hat-trick five minutes before the break. Tintwistle began the second half displaying more vigour and went close to another goal on numerous occasions from well delivered corners. Eventually the hosts were rewarded for their efforts when they made it 3-2 and for the first time in the game Thunder were under pressure.
But Beechy showed their battling qualities and Prince Idusuyi who was unplayable throughout the contest eased the pressure after he fired home Thunders fourth goal and suddenly displaying more confidence Thunder settled into their rhythm and were totally dominant on the ball. Goal number five arrived when another great move opened up the Tintwistle defence and an effort by Jack Davies deflected to Max Chidgey who slotted the ball into the right corner of the net. Man of the Match Prince Idusuyi got his fifth goal and completed the scoring after putting pressure on the Tintwistle keeper and beating him to the ball.
