Last game of the season for the Thunder boys and we were looking for revenge against Salford Storm who beat us in our first meeting. The first 10 minutes were very competitive with Thunder having the best of the ball and creating chances. Finley and Elliot were both using the wings well finding Angelo and José in the box but nothing clear cut came as the Storm defence held out well. Into the back end of the half with thunder pressing a high line for the opener we we're caught twice on the counter attack and an unlucky third just before the halftime break. Not deterred by the scoreline Thunder started the second half exactly like the first and it paid off with Che rifleing in the first after a good bit of build up play by Declan and Ralph. Finley would add a second shortly after with a trademark inswinging corner from the right that found it's way into the far corner of the net. With Thunder piling on the pressure some chances we're pounced on by the Storm attack forcing Bobby into making some great interceptions and excellent saves to keep thunder in the game. Storm managed to get there fourth from a suspect free kick decision just outside the box which was struck nicely into the bottom corner. Thunder still in the hunt got a third shortly after the rested José broke through the defence and finished neatly past the keeper. With time running thin Thunder continued with the constant pressure on the Storm backline and Ralph came to the rescue finishing his shot well from inside the box to square the game at 4 a piece.
An excellent comeback in the end by the boys despite being 3 down at one point they never stopped creating chances and battled back to a well deserved draw ⚡.
Man of the Match - Bobby, made some outstanding interceptions and saves to keep Thunder in the hunt.
