- Jamie Sinnott - Beechy Legend
Congratulations to Beechfield United legend Jamie Sinnott who recently completed another Season with the club and was named the Manchester Football League's Division 1 leading goal scorer with 31 Goals in 33 Appearances. Also Jamie was voted the 1st Teams Players Player of the Year by his fellow team mates. Here are the main highlights of Jamie's playing career with BUFC. His first involvement with the club was in season 2004/2005 when he played for the Under 15's who were members of the Bury and Radcliffe Junior League. The following Season he won the club's Under 16's Sportsman of the Year Award receiving the individual trophy at the club's Presentation Event held at the Reebok Stadium. Moving forward to Season 2006/2007 and into the Senior Section Jamie who was a right back in the early days was a member of the unbeaten A Team who were Lancashire and Cheshire League Division E Champions. In Season 2007/2008 the A Team enjoyed another successful season and Jamie collected two more medals when Beechy were crowned unbeaten Division D Champions plus Whitehead Cup winners.
The A Team became the club's Reserve Team in Season 2008/2009 after moving to the Manchester Football League. Goals were a rarity for Jamie in that season but after coming on as substitute he scored a stunning goal from 35 yards in a 2-0 away win over Breightmet United on 20/12/2008. On 30th January 2010 now a member of the 1st Team squad Jamie was voted Joint Man of the Match following the Manchester Challenge Trophy semi-final 2nd leg tie against Maine Road Reserves. United progressed into the final after winning 5-3 on aggregate. There were a few more goals and a couple of Man of the Match Awards for Jamie during the latter stages of the 2009/2010 season. In Season 2010/2011 Jamie was now playing regular for the 1st Team and having adopted a midfield/strikers role continued to score some spectacular goals. One worthy of a mention came in a 4-0 win against Fives Athletic on 18th September 2010.
There was another world class finish when United lost 4-3 to Monton Amateurs on 30/4/2011 and now fully established as a dead ball specialist Jamie capped a fine display with a superbly executed free kick that earned Beechy a 2-1 victory over Salford Victoria after a pre-season friendly on 17/8/2011. Headed goals for Jamie were few and far between but one to remember arrived during a 3-2 away defeat to Manchester Gregorians (7/4/2013) Two stunning individual goals were the highlight of a 3-0 away win at Irlam Steel (29/8/2015) and on Saturday 9th January 2016 Jamie's brilliant last minute free kick earned United a 4-3 victory over Westbury Sports. In a Manchester Football League Division 1 fixture played on 26th March 2016 Beechy beat Chadderton Reserves 2-0 and Jamie contributed with one of the goals via a free kick of sheer brilliance. At the end of the season Jamie collected the Managers Player of The Year Award.
