Manager Man of the Match Bodie!
A hot day with sun cream all around and the Beechy boys were a little unsettled to begin, the weather having an effect and the Devils were better prepared and quick to start, leaving the defence for dead taking an early lead with a great shot Peter Shilton wouldn't have saved so Bobby the Osprey had no chance and the defence were in for a grilling! Louis settling play and keeping possession with some trademark dribbling and managing to pull off some shots on goal and unlucky to get a goal back early on!
Elliot The Great having to put in a tough shift against some excellent opposition who have been together a lot longer than the Beechy Boys but there wasn't much separating them and was able to find a pass splitting the defence like a hot knife through butter but the keeper was ready and very able. Angelo leading from the back closing down play especially well and then having the confidence to take players on and finding passes. Rapid Rene the fireball finding plenty of action but unlucky with the final balls. Bobby needing to have a good game to put up with the attacks and kept the ball out well with some added Onawa style distribution.
Che working hard with Rio in attack and the Warrior King was well matched against a very strong midfield. Bodie managed to string some passing together and finding Louis running in to space with a beautiful pass but the defence were quick to pounce. Jose feeding off last weeks goal combining well with Reni and get one back! A scrappy game ensued with the Beechy Boys struggling to get passes together but through some exquisite skill from Louis and hard work from Rio and Che managed to pull a goal back. Jose through sheer effort managed to level it but the Devils with some great individual play managed to win the game with their fourth goal.
A good learning game for the Beechy Boys against a very good and experienced Team which 2 Training sessions in the week will hopefully give them a fighting chance in the Final, getting back to passing ways and enjoying themselves!
