Beechfield TORNADOES U8s v Swinton Tiger

Saturday 8th November 2025

Final Score: Swinton Tigers 2 – 4 Beechfield Tornadoes

POTM: Harry

First Half
A great battle between two evenly matched teams, with both sides showing brilliant energy and commitment. Gianluca showed fantastic skill and enthusiasm throughout, helping the team push forward straight from the whistle.
Swinton took the lead by one early on, but the Tornadoes responded brilliantly — Harry found the net to level things before Zane showed his incredible speed and bravery, scoring confidently on his debut. His fearless tackling and willingness to get stuck in stood out as a real highlight.

Second Half
The Tornadoes continued their strong performance after the break. Eric grabbed a well-deserved goal and was full of energy, creating several more chances for the team. Sergio impressed with great footwork and solid defensive work, while Noah’s determination in the tackle helped keep Swinton under pressure. Harry then capped off a superb display with a stunning solo goal — weaving past three defenders before smashing the ball home. Swinton managed another goal late on, but Rocco’s clever decisions and Theo’s brilliant saves in goal ensured the Tornadoes held firm.

A fantastic all-round team performance from Beechfield Tornadoes — full of energy, teamwork and confidence. Harry led by example with his work rate, finishing and decision-making.
The team showed great attitudes and improvement throughout, with plenty of positives to take into training as they continue to build on their momentum.

Swinton Lions versus Beechfield THUNDER

Our third match of the season against Swinton saw Thunder lose this away match, credit to both teams a minutes silence was observed impeccably before the match for Remembrance Sunday.
Swinton came out the blocks faster than Thunder and three quick succession goals saw the away team three nil down within ten minutes. Thunder settled down and started remembering the basics and started putting pressure on Swinton. Player of the Match Roman Ashworth who's work rate and passing and his run threat into the box saw him rewarded with a cool finish in the right hand corner, beating the keeper with ease. At half time and Thunder down six goals to one, the away team started the second half more positive and more fluidity with the passing, Thunder playing some quick balls and accurate passing into the box saw Aldo Gannon ready to pounce and putting pressure on the home team goalkeeper with a decent finish in front of goal. As Thunder got back into the game some more decent passing and movement off the ball created another chance into the box for Aldo to get his second goal of the match, smashing it straight down the middle of the goal giving the goalkeeper no chance saving it, again positives throughout the match but we have to start games stronger and faster from minute one, congratulations to Our trophy winners today Roman, Parker and Freddie fully deserved 👏

Goals:

5 Samuel ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

Complete Command: Beechfield Dictates the Game and Delivers a Nine-Goal Statement

From the opening whistle, it was clear which side came ready to control the game. Despite constant stops from the referee and the rival’s lack of understanding of several rules, Beechfield stayed composed and focused on playing real football.

The first strike came early: William delivered a perfect through ball that Kevin finished brilliantly to open the scoring . The second goal came from pure determination — Kevin pressed, recovered the ball, and buried it with authority.

Not long after, the dynamic duo appeared once again. The combination of William → Kevin struck again, adding another goal and assist to their shared tally.

Before half time, Samuel stepped onto the pitch and didn't have to pass much time to score his first of the day to put us four goals ahead. A handball in the box gave Beechfield a chance from the penalty spot, but unfortunately, William couldn’t convert this time.

Second Half: Pure Control and Confidence

The opposition spent much of the match — including the entire second half — playing with 8 players, yet still couldn’t generate danger. Our goalkeeper for the day, Jude, barely had work to do.

Beechfield, on the other hand, kept full control and added 5 more goals:

1 from Kevin, completing another strong performance.

4 from Samuel, even forcing an own goal from the opponent directly from a corner kick shot.

A match completely dominated from beginning to end, showing discipline, structure, and cold-blooded finishing.

MOM: Even with Kevin and Samuel scoring a lot of goals, Jaiden won the MOM today for being a wall in the defence and giving the team plenty of calm in the defence.
Parents Player: This trophy goes to Jude, attentive during all the time, not too many opportunities to show up, but responds properly when needed, and shows very good big kicks.

🏆 U9's Tournament
Beechfield LIGHTNING versus Moss Lane Juniors

Beechfield Lightning delivered a breathtaking performance today, producing a dominant display from the first whistle to the last. The boys were relentless, organised, and bursting with confidence as they powered to an astonishing victory.

Elliot and Billy were nothing short of electric, each bagging an incredible eight goals apiece. Their movement, energy, and finishing were on another level, constantly terrorising the Moss Lane defence.

Brayden and Finley both secured well-deserved hat-tricks, setting the tone early on with sharp passing, clever positioning, and relentless forward pressure. Their link-up play helped kick-start the Lightning onslaught.

From the back, Angelo was commanding throughout — reading the game superbly, winning challenges, and distributing with composure. His performance was capped off by a stunning goal: controlling a ball from a Lightning corner before unleashing a screamer into the far corner.

Ralph and Ronnie also added their names to the scoresheet with a goal each, fully earned after repeatedly causing problems going forward and keeping Moss Lane pinned deep in their own half.

Bodie’s calmness in midfield stood out, making key interceptions and finding smart passes to maintain control and keep the team moving. Meanwhile, Bobby in goal had little to worry about for much of the match — especially in the first half — with the Lightning’s dominance leaving him with more time to think about his school homework than making saves.

Watching on was Keith, who, like the rest of the coaching team, was hugely impressed with the boys' attitude, teamwork, and quality throughout. ⚡

⭐ Man of the Match: Elliot
A sensational performance filled with explosive runs, sharp assists, and eight superb goals. Truly unstoppable today. ⚡

**In the Manchester Youth Super League there was a fantasic Division 2 game between Beechy Under 12's LIGHTNING (9v9) and Chadderton Vipers. Despite dominating large parts of the game and creating five or six on on one chances Lightning were two goals down at the break. The half time team talk was about scoring the next goal and testing the Chadderton keeper more. The Beechy Boys listened well and after some fancy footwork by Austin Fillingham a Vipers defender fouled him inside the box. From the resulting penalty Henry Dunn clamly slotted home the spot-kick to reduce the arrears and though Lightning created loads of chances the luck wasn't on their side when Vipers scored again to go 3-1 up. But to their credit the Beechy players didn't give up and quickly replied when Matteo La Rama fired the ball home from close range. Lightning made it 3-3 after Henry Dunn reacted the quickest in the area to tap the ball into the net from a fantastic cross by George Richardson. The game could have gone either way but with five minutes remaining it was the Vipers who got the match winning goal. All the Beechy Boys can hold their heads high following this performance because on another day they could have won 6-2. Manager James Fillingham was so proud of all his players.

**At home to Manchester Bees the Under 16's TORNADOES suffered another defeat when they lost this Salford and Districts League Division 1 fixture 2-1. But this was a vastly improved performance from the Tornadoes who have strengthened the squad significently in recent weeks. Unfortunately Beechy got punished for two defensive mistakes and found it difficult to capitalise on their own chances. A draw was probably a fair result which seemed the most likely when Johua Beddows volleyed the ball home at the far post after a searing cross from Oscar Mather to make it 1-1. Sadly with ten minutes to go a momentary lapse in concentration saw the Bees nick all three points.

**Beechy Under 8's STORM maintained their unbeaten run in the Salford and Districts League with a victory over Salford Storm Thunder. Goals from Louie Phythian (2) and Jett Crooks were enough to earn Beechy their away win.

**Hindsford Juniors v Beechfield Utd U/11's STORM

In this Bolton Bury and District League Black Division fixture Beechy U/11's Storm made a sluggish start and found it extremely hard to get themselves a foothold in the game. At half time Manager Mark Chambers gave the Beechy Boys words of encouragement about working hard both on and off the ball plus working for each other. Storm's players went out with a better attitude in the second half and went more toe to toe with their opponents. There were some very poor decisions from the referee but that wasn't used as an excuse regarding Beechy's defeat. Obviously the players were very deflated after the final whistle but they will all learn that sometimes in football games like this one can help you more than destroy you. Mark also said to the boys keep your heads up and hopefully in the next games get back to winning ways.

**Sale Utd U12 Lions v Beechfield Utd U12 TORNADOES

The Tornadoes knew they would face a tricky match today at Sale, the only side in their Division with a 100% record.

Beechy actually started quite well and held our own for the first 10 minutes, before Sale scored on the counter with their first real attempt. Our heads then dropped as they have done a few times this season and we found ourselves 5-0 down at the break, not really creating much at the other end either. We were up against a good side but not doing the basics well enough, which made Sale look better than they were.

We again started the 2nd half well, Alex McGrory having our best chance of the game when his shot hit the inside of the post and rolled agonisingly across the line. Shortly after Sale scored their 6th and dominated the rest of the game. The only other chance of note we had was a Josh Green free kick which was well saved by the Sale keeper. We tried our best to not conceed double figures but 2 late goals made the final score 11-0.

Another tough day for the Tornadoes against a decent side. All players know they can do better than they did today, so no player of the match was awarded.

Beechfield U/13's TORNADOES 4 v AFC Bolton Yellows 2

**In the Bolton Bury and District League there was a big result for the Under 13's TORNADOES against AFC Bolton Yellows who were unbeaten going into the game. According to Manager Ryan Pugh Beechy were awful-the worst he had seen his team play as the boys couldn't string two passes together. The team were half asleep and well off the pace and how the Tornadoes were level going in at half time Ryan didn't know but a great executed free kick by Lucio Riva made it 2-2 at the break. Ryan's half time brutally honest team talk told the players they hadn't been good enough and needed to raise their standards. The Beechy Boys got the message and turned this Section B game around in their favour in the second half and at the end the AFC Bolton coach was full of praise for the Tornadoes. Man of the Match was Max Blood who netted a hat trick and played so well up top, chasing everything down as he battled for every ball. Special mention to Lucio who was instrumental in the middle plus his great free kick and a great assist for Max. Beechy keeper Harvey Pugh made two brilliant back to back saves which were crucial when AFC Bolton pushed hard to get back in the game. Ryan added that he was very proud of the lads response in the second half as Beechy dug deep and fought for each other.
