Beech's unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday with a defeat to Salford Storm Monsoon. Beechy started the game slowly and were two goals down after 10 minutes, a third goal came via a penalty for Monsoon but a great save by goalkeeper Raurie Brassington only for the rebound to go in, then a fourth was added. Shortly after Thunder started to get into the game and with some pinpoint passing by Zac Vaughan into the box George Lawson got his first goal for the club. Once again when Beechy got their first goal the whole team started to switch on and play some good football, Jesse Fletcher with a pinpoint pass finding Gideon James who went on one of his runs straight down the middle of the pitch and nobody could put a tackle on him, a great finish saw the ball into the back of the net. Shortly after Monsoon scored their fifth of the game but again the boys rallied and continued to put pressure on the defence and a superb finish into the right hand top corner of the net from Ronnie Green, getting their third and final goal of the game. Player of the Match Aldo Gannon who did not stop working all game with tireless running, parents Player of the Match George Lawson who made his teammates and coaches very proud with an excellent goal.
