- Beechy Player is Mascot For The Day
Lucas Wood who plays for Beechfield United Under 11's Lightning certainly had a day to remember on Saturday 18th November 2017. He was Salford City FC's Mascot of the Day for their National League North Division home game versus North Ferriby United. Both Lucas and Dad Scott who is the Under 11's Lightning Assistant Manager are season ticket holders at Salford City and Scott had arranged this special treat for Lucas's 11th birthday. Arriving at the ground for 1.30pm both Lucas and Scott were escorted to the home dressing room by the head of security. Lucas had taken with him an old shirt that was signed by the whole Salford City squad and the Team Managers. He then went onto the pitch to warm up with the players who were all amazing with him. Then Lucas waited outside the dressing room while the players had their pre-match team talk before leading out the team to Dirty Old Town the club's anthem. After another quick warm up Lucas and Scott headed to their place in the stands ready to watch the match that ended with a 4-0 win for Salford City. Scott was full of praise for Salford City FC and how they had looked after Lucas who's favourite player is Scott Burton and Scott is planning on talking with the club to see if he can get some tickets for future games for Beechy Under 11's Lightning. Congratulations to Lucas from everyone at Beechfield United FC.
