- U/21's Storm Match Details Sept/Oct/Nov 2024
Beechfield United's newly formed U/21's Storm team will compete in the Bolton Bury and District League in Season 2024/2025.
*7/9/2024 STORM kicked-off the season with a friendly match against Hindley Juniors that ended 5-5. At Salford Sports Village a visitors forward had the games first shot on target then both Sam Everall and Adam Peacock went close to finding the back of the net. Storm eventually took the lead through Caleb Hoyes when he made a smart turn on the edge of the box and fired the ball home. Then Adam delivered a great through ball and Caleb skilfully beat an opponent before adding a powerful finish for 2-0. Hindley Juniors continued to play well but Beechy increased their lead via Caleb who completed his hat-trick following another neat pass from Adam. The visitors produced more good football and reduced the arrears with a great goal before the half time break. In the second half Storm edged 4-1 up when Josh Everall met a corner taken by Joe Northall and directed the ball into the net with a bullet header. Via a long range strike Hindley got another goal back before a solo run by Maurice Mundia created the chance for Man of the Match Caleb who scored his fourth goal when he made it 5-2. Suddenly fatigue became a problem for Storm's players and Hindley took advantage scoring twice then equalising in the last minute.
*14/9/2024 The U/21's first official Division 2 fixture was an away game with Cherrybrook Warriors. Maurice Mundia was gifted a chance to open the scoring before the hosts took the lead via a lucky rebound then a good finish put Cherrybrook 2-0 up. The hosts continued to play some decent attacking football as Storm attempted to find a goal with a couple of long range efforts. Cherrybrook added three more goals to guarantee themselves a 5-0 victory.
*21/9/2024 At home to Astley Bridge a great overall performance earned Storm a fully deserved 3-2 win. Following a breakaway attack the visitors got the games first goal but as Beechy started to move the ball with flair they equalised through Caleb Hoyes. A good move between Joe Northall and Adam Peacock set-up a chance for Caleb who was just off target prior to Astley Bridge regaining the lead with a controversial goal. Starting the second half on the front foot Storm made it 2-2 thanks to a goal by Joe Northall and the game could have either way but Beechy secured their victory when Andrew Woodward scored with a well executed free kick.
*5/10/2024 Storm's first fixture of October was a home game against Crompton FC and Beechy who were soon under pressure went 1-0 down after eleven minutes. Guilty of some bad defending Storm gifted Crompton a second goal and the visitors scored again just before half time. Efforts by Caleb and Adam were just off target as Storm strived to get back in the game but Crompton got a killer fourth goal from the penalty spot. A fifth goal guaranteed the visitors the three points.
*12/10/2024 On a boggy 9v9 pitch Beechy played FC Bridgewater and starting brightly almost went ahead through shots from Adam and Peter. A defensive error allowed Bridgewater to take the lead but Storm fought back and equalised courtesy of Caleb Hoyes. Bridgewater were awarded a penalty and Beechy keeper Ben Glynn made a great save turning the ball onto the post but a hosts striker netted the rebound to put the hosts 2-1 up. Making a poor start in the second half Storm found themselves 3-1 down and needing a lucky break that eventually arrived with a good goal from Adam Peacock. During an attacking surge Beechy deserved to earn at least a draw when Caleb, Lewis Law and Josh Everall all went close to an equaliser in the latter stages.
*19/10/2024 Beechy from Division 2 had a friendly match with Division 1 outfit Astley Bridge Yellows. Storm who had home advantage went 1-0 up via long range strike from Joe Northall but Astley Bridge got their act together and scored a quick equaliser. The gulf between the teams was clearly visible as Storm's opponents switched the ball around with ease and following a defensive mistake Beechy trailed 2-1. For most of the second half Astley Bridge were on top and added three more goals as Storm had to soak up some heavy pressure.
*2/11/2024 Away at Little Lever both Adam Peacock and Joe Northall had chances to open the scoring before the hosts took the lead. Little Lever who held their one goal advantage at the break added a couple more though the hosts third goal should have been disallowed for offside. Storm conceded a fourth goal before Joe Northall scored from a free kick to make it 4-1 and Beechy continued to play some very good football for few rewards. Little Lever scored two more goals but the result flattered the home team.
*9/11/2024 Boothstown Rangers were Storm's opponents on 9th November and due to a shocking decision by the referee Beechy conceded the opening goal. Despite the setback Beechy completely dominated the game and there were chances for Adam, Caleb and Oliver to equalise before half time. As they continued to control the game Storm couldn't find that vital first goal and and following a free kick Bridgwater led 2-0. Eventually Caleb netted a consolation goal for Beechy who were without six squad players for this Division 2 league game.
*16/11/2024 Without a league fixture Storm arranged a friendly match with Deans Youth and making a confident start Beechy went close to going ahead before Deans took the lead from the penalty spot. Playing the more attractive football Storm got a deserved equaliser when Luke Woodward scored from close range. Joe Northall skilfully rounded the keeper to put Beechy 2-1 up but Deans equalised when Storm conceded a sloppy goal. Deans regained the lead in the second half but Beechy were rewarded for playing more superb football with a great goal by Andrew Woodward who hammered the ball into the net from the edge of the box. The result could have gone either way but it was Deans who managed to sneak a 4-3 victory after Storm conceded another untidy goal but this was a really good performance from the Beechy Boys against a team from the top division.
