- Improved Display From Beechy Reserve Team
After last Saturday's lacklustre display Beechfield United Reserves answered the questions asked by Manager Mark McWilliams in their Manchester Football League Division 5 home game against Walshaw Sports.
Despite having to deal with a poor pitch and with only eleven players available Beechy had enough quality in the team to guarantee a 5-1 victory. The overall performance and attitude was much better plus there were good individual displays from all over the pitch. Right back Macauley Knight and David McCarthy filling in at left back were impressive while pulling the strings in midfield was Keenan Switzer who helped himself to a couple of goals. Leading marksman Callum Davies continued his hot scoring streak with two more goals and Ben Shiels was on target with another well taken goal but United's Man of the Match award went to Byron Ward who was playing in a central midfield role for the first time. Mark McWilliams said after the final whistle he was highly delighted with his teams excellent all-round display.
