*Beechy U7's STORM 8 - 3 Moorside Rangers Blues U7's*
A very cold game which a couple of our players struggled to raise the standards set in the early passage of it-however it was Beechy who broke the deadlock early on with a corner whipped in by Isaiah which Alfie bundled over the line to make it 1-0.
Shortly after a good break Beechy were pegged back with an error in defence with Charlie having a pass intercepted and finished by the Moorside team.
Again Beechy struggled to get hold of the game though they had a couple of chances with Bryce narrowly missing as well as Moorside Blues showing they are no push over. Beechy's Coach made changes from bench however it was another mistake in defence which saw Beechy go behind with Ralph finishing past Isaiah in net - maybe a momentary lapse where he asked the bench “did he score”?
With Beechy 2-1 down - and starting to warm up a number of shots were taken with one squirming in past the keeper courtesy of Charlie - assisted well by a cross by James who was going on the have a big impact in the game.
Beechy assumed control just before half time with a quick double, an incisive break from Charlie and Beechy overloading with Henry and George either side with him carefully passing the ball through to Henry who finished emphatically. This good passing move seemed to give the lads confidence with a ball played from Henry on the right to Ralph to the left of the goal who made amends with a tidy finish past the keeper to bring it to 4-2 at HT
The second half was dominated by Beechy with James and Henry in particular taking centre stage with James scoring his hat-trick with 3 almost identical goals with him breaking through defence and finishing past the keeper - the cherry on the top of his performance with an excellent break and cross into the box which found Isiaiah who hitting it first time slid past the goal keeper.
All broken up with a third goal for the visitors who's striker lifted the ball over Alfie's head who shortly after made the save of the game stopping a shot going in that was going bottom right with a diving save.
By the end the score could have been more if it wasn’t for some excellent defending from Moorside & a good goalkeeping performance.
