Salford and Districts Junior League U/11's Blue Group

U11's Storm continued their good form with a resounding win at home against Baguley. Starting the game on the front foot it was only a matter of minutes before Jack Sinclair picked up the ball from a defensive mistake and punished them with a great finish. Beechy continued on top and the second wasn’t far behind, Jack again finding space around the edge of the area and tucked the ball into the bottom corner. Storm continued to dominate but were caught on the break and Baguley pulled one back. Beechy’s shrugged it off and continued to put the Baguley back 3 under pressure and when the ball was laid out right to Denholm Brooks he produced a lovely finish into the bottom corner.

Baguley we’re struggling to get out of their half and some great football in midfield, a lovely through ball from Ismail Adetona and a strong run Austin Pierce beat the back line and he bravely slotted home despite the onrushing goalkeeper wiping him out in the process. Austin’s pace was proving tough for the Baguley back line and he got on the scoring sheet again robbing the ball back in the press, beating his man and putting the ball beyond the outstretched keeper. Max Schofield who bossed the midfield got onto the scoresheet, he picked the ball up in the middle of the park and drove at the Baguley defence like a train, he beat two men and smashed it home to give Beechy a four goal lead going into half time.

Into the second half and kicking down the hill Beechy were in total control and further goals from Denholm, Max, Kobe Glass, Ismail and Austin were the least they deserved with the keeper pulling off some great saves and a few other efforts rattling the woodwork. It was a quality team display who made a decent team look average at best, the most pleasing thing though was the passing moves we put together, the decision making and how we defended from the front and as a whole unit. The back three of Harvey King, Harry Wharton and Joel Momoh were like a wall most of the game. Also some great work from Kobe Glass and Barkley Pope on the wings

Man of the Match was Max Scofield with a totally dominant midfield performance. Special mentions to Josh Lowry and Jack Sinclair who both did a stint in net as we were missing our keeper.
