- Junior Section Match Details 1/10/2022
There was another busy Saturday morning in the Junior Section on 1st October 2022 and there were several great individual team performances especially the Under 14's Hurricanes.
* Beechy Under 14's Hurricanes had their first away game of the season in the Salford and Districts League when they met Wythenshawe Amateurs. Despite dominating the match throughout this was a hard earned win for the Hurricanes who celebrated a 5-2 victory. Beechy took the lead through Finlay Unsworth who used his strength to past the hosts defence before adding a powerful finish. The Hurricanes went 2-0 up when Alfie Rostron scored an absolute belter bending the ball into the bottom corner of the net then substitute Thomas Robinson added the third goal with his first touch of the ball following a move started from a goal kick.
Goal number four arrived courtesy of another good move that ended when Alfie Rostron fired the ball home from just inside the area for his second goal of the game.
In the second half Wythenshawe Amateurs reduced the arrears then the hosts scored again via a counter-attack after the Hurricanes had an appeal for a penalty waved away. Following a heated period that included two nasty challenges on Beechy players the Hurricanes were rewarded with their fifth goal when Man of the Match Finlay Unsworth superbly beat three players and produced another in-form strikers finish.
*Beechfield United Under 7's Thunder continued their unbeaten start to the season with a home victory over Deans Sports and it was the visitors who opened the scoring before Thunder roared back with six unanswered goals before half time. Harrison Spencer with a hat-trick Man of the Match Antonio Embalo with two goals and Harry Wright were all on target in Beechy's fine first half performance. Deans Sports replied with two goals in the second half but Thunder still controlled the game and Jude Bond was unluckly not to score when his first time effort hit the inside of the post before the final whistle.
*In their away game against Salford Storm Tornadoes the Under 8's Storm made a quick start and opened the scoring straight from the kick off with a goal from Oscar Pugh and as they kept the pressure on their opponents Beechy also defended superbly. Always trying to improve on their passing and working hard as a team Beechy have made a terrific start to the season. Other goalscorers for Beechy were Seth Barber and Man of the Match Harry Heathcote-Clare who despite being ill during the week produced a great performance.
*After making a slow start in their away game at Urmston Meadowside the Under 8's Thunder went three goals down before Harley Cosgrove-Newby netted Beechy's consolation goal before half time. A Man of the Match debut display by Hugo Balogun was a real plus in a disappointing Beechy performance.
*Beechy Under 9's Storm produced an awesome display in the home game with Boothstown Hornets. Every player was totally committed straight from the first whistle and Storm broke the deadlock with a great finish from Man of the Match Max Schofield following a smooth passing move. Beechy continued to play the pressing game and when the ball found Jack Sinclair on the edge of the area he slotted it into the bottom corner of the net. In a very one-sided first half Jack Sinclair was on target again when he won possession in midfield and following some neat footwork drilled the ball home. In the second half as Storm continued to search for more goals but they missed a hatful of good chances. The team worked hard as a unit and a solid defence was the basis of this dominant Beechy display.
*The Under 9's Tornadoes also had an home game at Beech Farm Playing Fields and they came out on top after a nine goal thriller with Winton Warriors. on target for the Tornadoes were Player of the Match Anika Wojciak who scored four goals and Alex McGrory. Previously the Tornadoes had played their first competitive game and the team included a lot of new players. Beechy were away at Boothstown Hornets and there were some good individual performances especially from Man of the Match Crewe Reeves.
*In action against Salford Storm Hurricanes were Beechy Under 10's Tornadoes who played some great football as they dominated this away game from start to finish. The Tornadoes have shown a vast improvement in the past three weeks after working hard on their passing and possession of the ball. Goalscorers for Beechy were Kai Barker, River Langford, Luke Bennett and Man of the Match Harvey Pugh who created a great overall performance plus a well taken goal.
*Rewarded for a fast start in their (9v9) Yellow Group home game with Kingsway Athletic were Beechy Under 11's Thunder. At the end of a move down the left wing Abelmalik Zuway was fouled in the area and from the resulting spot-kick Mohammed Edris gave Thunder the lead. Unfortunately both Mohammed and team mate Jermaine Rose felt unwell during the game and had to be replaced. Kingsway Athletic started to adopt a more physical approach and were able to control the game which ended with a victory for the visitors to Beech Farm.
*Seeking their first win of the season were the Under 13's Tornadoes who were away to Stretford Victoria for their latest Division 2 fixture. A dreadful first half eventually led to a 7-3 defeat for the Tornadoes who displayed some pride and spirit in the second half. Jayden Hoye, Oscar Mather and recent new signing Radwan Fakeeh were on target for Beechy in this Salford and Districts League encounter.
