Beechfield United Under 17's produced a brilliant second half performance in their Timperley and District League home game with Boothstown Juniors and were rewarded with a 7-1 victory but Beechy had struggled throughout the first half to find their form and Boothstown found themselves leading 1-0 at the break. The half time team talk from Manager Paul Leonard worked wonders because the Under 17’s totally dominated the second forty-five minutes and responded with seven quality goals. Tom Walker (Hat-Trick) Ryan Curran, Callum Frier, Tom Haslem and Charlie Hilton scored the goals and this win keeps Beechy on top of the Youth Bundesliga Division table. Voted Man of the Match was Joe Haye.
Also in the Timperley and District League the Under 16’s Predators remain as leaders of Division One following a 4-1 home win over Sale United Jets. Controlling the match straight from the kick off Beechy produced some top-class soccer and should have been more than 3-1 up at half time. Man of the Match Brandon Kent, Joe Lydiate, and Liam Egerton (2) got the goals for the Predators who currently have a goal difference of plus twenty-six.
In the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 16’s Tornadoes stay top of Section C after their 5-3 win against Bury All Stars Pluto. Coming back from a goal down Beechy quickly took control and were leading 4-1 with twenty minutes to go. With a dubious offside goal Bury All Stars reduced the arrears then Bury All Stars scored again but United’s fifth goal secured the three points and the victory. The goals came via Mason White (2) Joe Furlong, Nauris Kaluga and Lucas Morgan.
Still searching for their first win of the season are Beechy Under 15’s Storm who had a tough away game at Urmston Sports Club. Despite a hard-working display United suffered a 5-1 defeat. Man of the Match Dylan McGee fired home the Storm’s consolation goal.
The Under 13’s Tornadoes went goal crazy in their home game with local rivals Moorside Rangers Blue. Dominating possession throughout the match the Tornadoes hit double figures. Goalscorers were Man of the Match Max O’Brien (4) Fernley Davies (4) Henry Grimes, Ellis Kenny and Shaun Heywood.
Suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat away to Flixton Junior Hawks were the Under 12’s Tornadoes (9v9) In this Division 3 encounter Beechy played the better football and created the most chances. Joe Hope and Ronan Courtney scored the goals and Harrison Birkett who played right midfield and left back was named Man of the Match.
Away to Barr Hill Aces the Under 12’s Storm (9v9) won a ten goal Division 1 thriller 6-4 and retained second place in the table. Oliver Potter was the Storm’s Best Player and on target with the goals were Luke Carr, Adam Rothwell, Damion Broughton, Samuel Oludoyi, Rome Hodson and Finley Irvine.
Rediscovering the winning formula were the Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) who were in action on Sunday against South Manchester Lions. Thanks to a solid all-round display and goals from Bradley Oliver (Hat-Trick) and Man of the match Jack Fitton who scored two goals Beechy won this Development Group Yellow Division fixture.
Playing some great football in the first half of their away game with Ladybridge Leopards were the Under 11’s Storm (9v9) who held a one goal lead at the break. As they continued to dominate the match in the second half Beechy added three more goals but United conceded a goal in the last minute. Kaiden McClean, Cameron Booth and Oliver Lawton fired in the goals and Johnny Walsh was Man of the Match.
Involved in a great game of mini-soccer were the Under 10’s Hurricanes who played Prestwich Marauders at Beechy Farm. This Bolton Bury and District League Dragons Division game included ten goals and the Hurricanes were worthy winners. There was a hat-trick for Man of the Match Josh Clough plus other goals from James Taylor, Dominic Roaden and Reilly Happy.
The Development Group Red Division contest between the Under 10’s Storm and Swinton Tigers turned out to be a one-sided affair. Beechy who produced some excellent football scored seven good goals but were denied more by the Swinton Tigers keeper who had an outstanding game. United’s goalscorers were Harry Backhouse, Freddie Jackson, Caden Gibson, Josh McLoughlin and Man of the Match Alfie Gee.
At home to De La Salle Hawks the Under 10’s Typhoon made a great start to this Development Group Yellow Division fixture when Cole Winstanley set-up Jamie Withington who scored the opening goal. Jamie added another goal and Beechy outplayed their opponents in the first half. In the second half De La Salle Hawks exploited a weakness regarding United’s ability to defend against corner kicks. Ronan Mullen netted a third goal for Beechy and following a magnificent performance Milonga Mututa was named as Man of the Match.
There was a Sunday morning home game for the Under 10’s Lightning who entertained Manchester Maccabi Wildcats in the Development Group Green Division. William Anderton and Sam Henderson scored the goals for Beechy who lost the match. Voted Best Player was Liam Peers.
Highlight of the Under 9’s Storm’s away fixture with neighbours Moorside Rangers Purple was created by Man of the match Michael Walsh who scored direct from a corner. This goal gave United the lead and they were ahead until just before half time. The second half was evenly balanced but Rangers got two goals inside the final five minutes to guarantee victory.
Goalkeeper Freddie Wardle who was in superb form in the Under 9’s Tornadoes Development Group Red Division home game against De La Salle Devils was an automatic choice for the Man of the Match Award.
Maintaining their winning run in the Development Group Yellow Division were the Under 8’s Tornadoes. At home to Swinton Junior Pumas goals from Harvey Riva and Ethan Harris secured the Tornadoes another victory. Josh Jemmett was rewarded with the Star Play Award following an excellent performance.
The Under 8’s Storm had to settle for a score draw at the end of their Development Group Red home game with Ladybridge Wolves. Man of the Match Fletcher Jackson and Henry Jones were the goalscorers.
Away at Barr Hill Diamonds the Under 7’s Storm produced a first-class first half display with every player making a huge contribution. In the second period Beechy created a few chances and Noah Thorndyke scored a superb goal. Sharing the Man of the Match Award were goalkeeper Oliver Markendale who was in great form and Noah Thorndyke.
Dylan Courtney helped himself to a hat-trick in the Under 7’s Tornadoes Development Group Yellow Division home game against South Manchester FC. George Wadeson was chosen as Man of the Match.
