- Junior Section Match Details 20th/21st Oct 2018
Following their fourth Division 4 fixture Beechfield United Under 15's Sunday team stayed undefeated in the Timperley and District League. Beechy were at home to Wythenshawe Amateurs Panthers and despite having enough chances to win the game were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw. The visitors took the lead but United equalised when Ellis Kenny scored from the penalty spot. Josh Allen was Beechy's Man of the Match.
For the second time in seven days Beechy Under 14's Tornadoes met Bridge JFC Eagles. United's opponents currently hold top spot in the North Bury Junior League Division 2 table and secured a quick winning double over the Tornadoes via a 4-0 victory. Voted the Tornadoes Star Player was Taylor O'Brien,
At Stott Lane the Under 13's Tornadoes endured a tough seventy minutes when they met Fletcher Moss Rangers Blue and after conceding three penalties the Tornadoes found themselves 4-0 down at half time. Fletcher Moss added another four goals to earn a comfortable victory but despite the final result there were some great individual performances in the Beechy ranks. Voted the Tornadoes Man of the Match was Xander Effio.
In the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 13's Storm played top of Section C outfit Bolton United away. Not helped by having to start the game with only eight players Beechy quickly went 1-0 down but after the three missing players arrived the Storm matched their opponents tackle for tackle. Bolton United increased their lead from a dubious free kick when the ball was fired into the top corner of the net. Showing great character the Beechy boys worked hard and were eventually rewarded when they won a deserved penalty and Ben Delaney converted the spot-kick just before half time. After the break the Storm dominated their opponents and were awarded a second though this time debatable penalty and once again Man of the Match Ben Delaney made no mistake with the spot-kick for 2-2. The next goal was obviously crucial but it was Bolton United who got it to regain the lead and committed to all-out attack Beechy left gaps in defence and Bolton United scored two more goals to win the match 5-2. To be honest the hosts should have been flattered by the score line at the final whistle.
Beechy's in-form 9v9 team the Under 12's Lightning made it seventeen goals scored in their last three Salford and District's League Division 3 fixtures. Man of the Match Jake Barrington, David Olidoy, Kyle Stafford, Robert Harris and Joel Idujusi were on target in a 5-0 win over Prestwich Dragons.
In Division 2 it might have been a top versus bottom match but you wouldn't have guessed when the Under 12's Typhoon (9v9) met De La Salle Hawks at Lancaster Road. Beechy's low position in the table certainly looked a false one in this end to end encounter but despite a superb all-round display Typhoon suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat. Goals for Beechy came via Ronan Mullen, Daniel Hesketh and Sonny O'Brien who was making his debut. Following a great defensive performance Freddie Latham was named the teams Best Player.
At home to neighbours Moorside Rangers Greens in the Blue Group the Under 11's Tornadoes (9v9) came out on top following another confident and dazzling display. Oliver Percival put Beechy ahead in the first minute and a second goal soon followed courtesy of Finlay Fairhurst. Another goal for Oliver Percival then a penalty scored by Joel Thorndyke gave the Tornadoes a four goal lead at the break and though Moorside Rangers had a few chances to score Beechy controlled the second half adding further goals. One was another penalty this time converted by Finlay Fairhurst that was sandwiched in between a couple of goals for Edward Hughes who was awarded Player of the Match following a midfield display of hard work and composure.
Re-writing the Beechy records books was Oliver Cowley the Under 11's Storm (9v9) goals machine who scored his fifth hat-trick on the trot. Must have cost Team Manager Martin Belcher a fortune to replace the match balls. Storm were at home for this Green Group fixture with Barr Hill Cubs but lost the match that included some top-quality soccer and ten goals. Cobey Cleary got United's other goal and Joshua Kilfoyle received the Man of the Match award.
The Under 11's Hurricanes (9v9) who were without a game for two weeks were back in action in the Green Group. On Sunday morning at Beech Farm the Hurricanes opponents were Manchester Maccabi Warriors. Michael Munden was named the teams Star Player and on target with a consolation goal for Beechy was Harrison Tinald.
Congratulations to Beechy Under 10's Hurricanes who after winning their first six games of the season have been promoted to the Blue Group. Beechy's final Yellow Group fixture in the Salford and District League was on Sunday afternoon against Manchester Maccabi Eagles. At Beech Farm the Hurricanes celebrated their success when they beat Maccabi following a great performance and goals from Man of the Match Oliver Hall, Jamie Maher, Joshua Whitehead, Dillan Caldwell and Alfie Rostron (3) his second hat-trick in successive games.
Producing an excellent performance were Beechy Under 10's Tornadoes who created some great accurate passing moves in their Blue Group home game with De La Salle Reds. Mycah Camilleri netted a hat-trick, Man of the Match Ebosele Oguname scored with a superb free kick from the halfway line and Ethan Harris completed the scoring in this Tornadoes victory. Goalkeeper Asa Brown made one brilliant save in the first but overall he was rarely troubled throughout this match.
In the Under 10's Green Group Beechy Lightning were at home to Deans Tigers and could have won the match following a great all-round performance. But Beechy just weren't clinical enough after creating numerous chances and Deans got the benefit of a dubious penalty decision. Goalkeeper Jake Lewis was Man of the Match after producing a great performance and Jai Devani White scored Lightning's consolation goal. Squad for the game: Jai Devani White (Captain) Sean Cosgrove, Jake Lewis, Nicholas Ainscough, Matthew Elliott, Charlie Green, Charlie Bell, Alfie Latham, Tyler Candland, Presley Smith.
Thanks to some exceptional football in their Yellow Group away game at Winton Devils the Under 9's Lightning boys were rewarded with a fully deserved win. Captain and Man of the Match Kaylon Salisbury got two goals plus there was a goal apiece for Deenraj Singh and debutant player Othniel Seyoum. Congratulations also goes to the Under 9's Lightning players and officials for achieving promotion in your age group to the Blue Group.
On the AstroTurf pitch at Moorside High School the Under 9's Tornadoes played neighbours Moorside Rangers Red. A superb free kick from Man of the Match Josh Beddows put Beechy a goal up but Rangers found an equaliser then scored again to hold the lead at half time. A well worked team move led to the Tornadoes getting back level with a goal from Logan McFeely, then latching onto a clearance from a Rangers defender George Wadeson hammered the ball into the top corner of the net. Beechy took full control of this Green Group match and creating lots of chances were rewarded with two more goals courtesy of Stewart Kay.
Beechy Under 8's Storm continued their strong start to the season in the Blue Group when they secured victory over Ladybridge Tigers. A hat-trick for Ryden Coward and a couple of goals by Connor O'Sullivan guaranteed the win. Reuben Wardle was Man of the Match following his first half goalkeeping performance alone.
Good news regarding the Under 7's team who continued to show all-round improvement throughout the squad. Passing the ball and space awareness in key areas has got better every game. Twice within the opening ten minutes Beechy came close to a goal, one effort hit the post then another was cleared off the line. Thomas Brady was Man of the Match.
