- Junior Section Match Details 25th October 2025
There was another outstanding performance in the Manchester Youth Super League by Beechfield United Under 11's Thunder.
**The Under 11's THUNDER (9v9) were involved in a really good game in the Manchester Youth Super League cup and a super hard working all-round display earned Beechy a high scoring victory. On another day Thunder could easily have scored a lot more goals. Goalscorers for Beechy were Sonny Phillips (hat-trick) Harley Cosgrove-Newby (2) Deo Wai Wai (2) Eden Sykes and Jamin Usaihdi. The Man of the Match award was shared between Eden Sykes and Deacon holden. Thunder's next two fixtures are against top of the table teams so the Beechy Boys will need to bring their A game with them on the day.
**At home to Bolton Lads & Girls Bulls the Under 11's STORM (9v9) won this Bolton Bury and District League Black Division game by the odd goal in five. Storm's squad for the game was George Savage (Goalkeeper) Alfie Heighway, Bobby Lowe, Jacob Foster, Oscar Pugh, Oscar Berry, Harry Chambers, Redas Silajevas, Carter Lowe and Zaid Yasser. On target with the goals for Storm were George (Penalty) and Bobby (2) while the goal assists came via Carter. Manager's Man of the Match was Harry and the parents choice for M-O-M went to Bobby.
**Without an offical BBDJFL fixture were the Under 13's TORNADOES so a friendly match was arranged with North Bury Junior League team Prestwich Wolves. Straight from the kick-off the fast action was end to end and producing some brilliant football the Tornadoes held a 3-0 lead at half time. Prestwich Wolves got a goal back early in the second half and Beechy keeper Harvey Pugh had to make a few vital saves before Max Blood completed his hat-trick for 4-1. The Wolves replied with two more goals forcing more defending from the Tornadoes but Beechy remained well organised and celebrated a 4-3 victory. Archie Charles scored the other Tornadoes goal and the assists came from Luke Bennett and Archie. There was an added bonus for the Tornadoes who ended opponents unbeaten run.
**Away at Monton Sports the Under 16's TORNADOES suffered their fifth successive defeat in the Salford and Districts Junior League. In this Division 1 encounter the Tornadoes were the much better team and looked the more likely to win the game. But Beechy didn't take their goalscoring chances whilst Monton Sports capitalised on three Tornadoes errors and won the match 3-0.

From Sleepy Start to Stunning Finish: Beechfield’s Grit Shines Through.
A beautiful sunny morning set the stage for an exciting and hard-fought game — and our boys rose to the challenge once again!
The match didn’t start as planned, with our players looking a bit sleepy — perhaps due to too much apple juice on Friday night. The opponents took full advantage, scoring twice within the opening minutes to take an early two goal lead. But true to the Beechfield spirit, our boys didn’t back down. Slowly, the rhythm began to shift.
The breakthrough finally came when William picked out Caspian with a clever pass, and Caspian made no mistake — a clean strike into the back of the net to reduce the arrears. Not long after, Alvin recovered a ball brilliantly in midfield, dribbled past defenders, and coolly finished to level the score.
Fresh legs came on and brought new energy, with Samuel dictating play from the wing, sending long, precise passes into attack, creating chance after chance but unfortunately, they were not realised. Just before half time, Alvin once again pressed high, won the ball, and delivered a perfect pass to Kevin, who finished with precision to give Beechy the lead heading into the break.
The second half was pure intensity — both sides creating chances and testing each other. Samuel fired a long-range shot that found the net for the fourth goal, but Moorside refused to give up, responding with a goal of their own to stay in the fight. The tension grew, and once again, teamwork made the difference: Kevin found space, received a beautiful pass from Samuel, and finished clinically to give us breathing room with goal number five.
Moorside struck again late late in the game, keeping everyone on edge. In the final minutes, in a special twist, the referee allowed all players to come onto the field to finish the game together — a wonderful gesture of sportsmanship and inclusion. The boys defended bravely until the final whistle, securing a thrilling victory that showcased not just skill, but determination and heart.
MOM: This time it was handed to our little giant Jaiden, who was decisive throughout the match, focused on defense, taking the ball away, and not letting the opposition play their game.
**Beechfield THUNDER Under 8s v Beechfield STORM
Our second game against Storm this season saw a hotly contested match between two sides going all out to get the three points in the Challenge Tournament Cup. Thunder were in the match throughout and showed a lot of composure and work ethic all way through the game and battled until the final whistle against a strong Storm team. Thunders playing style and development over the last few weeks has been a joy to see, all nine players for Thunder today were committed and showed how well they can play in a tough cup group. Debutant Parker Haworth got Thunders solitary goal but what a goal it was, taking on the Storm team with good footwork and a powerfull strike hitting the goal at pace, plenty of positives throughout the entire game for Thunder and a special mention goes to the whole team when the Coaches decided to give the Player Of The Match to the whole Matchday Squad although on the losing side, Good Luck to Storm in their final cup match against Swinton 👏⚽️

Storm played a competitive topsy turvy game away at Old Trafford that came to a penalty decider.
Storm usually the fastest struggled to come to terms with Old Trafford where they struck early doors - Storm though reacted immediately with Nathan picking up the ball in midfield playing through Imad who, had a couple of pot shots previously made no mistake placing it past the goal keeper.
Reggie and Josh battled hard to win the ball back frequently looking for outlets though old Trafford defended well with Imad looking the most likely to score - both Jacob and Nathan battled well and pressing high allowed Imad through who was scythed down - his penalty was well saved by the goal keeper and unfortunately shortly after Storm showed defensive errors which allowed Old Trafford a free run at goal to concede.
At half time both Jose and Arman entered the fray with the former bringing immediate impact- playing through Imad who raced for a 1v1 taking it to two two. The momentum fully with Storm though again an error from the back trying to pass out allowed Old Trafford to take the lead.
Imad, Jose and Arman all had resulting chances hitting the post with one hit so hard it injured the goal keeper - however it took a moment of magic from Nathan, tapped the ball in from a kick in and curled a magical goal into the back of the net from just past the half way line.
Again, Storm were the products of their own downfall - playing out from the back, caught and Old Trafford scored celebrating wildly. Storm piled forward with Arman clinching the equaliser tapping over the replacement goalie and a ball judged over the line. Some heroics again from the new keeper stopping both Jose and Imad from taking the game further.
Josh, Jose and Vincent all stepped up to take the penalties with Vincent saving the first though Old Trafford came out victorious in an exciting game!
MOTM
*Nathan* - goal of the game and an assist, played the entire match and at times every position on the pitch
Parents Player
*Josh* - continues to develop, strong going forward, was tantalisingly close to a goal, defensively didn’t put a foot wrong.
**U9's Challenge Cup – 25 October 2025
Beechfield LIGHTNING v Beechfield TORNADOES
The second game of the Challenge Cup saw Beechfield Lightning face off against familiar opponents, the Beechfield Tornados. Lightning were quick out of the blocks, making their intent clear from the first whistle. Three excellent early goals — all from superb crosses and first-time finishes — set the tone for what would become a dominant display.
Billy, Brayden, and Ronnie linked up superbly in attack, creating constant problems for the Tornadoes defence. Meanwhile, Angelo, Bodie, and Finley provided stability at the back, breaking up play and distributing the ball with confidence. With Lightning in full control, goalkeeper Bobby had a quiet first half, thanks to the relentless pressure from his outfield teammates.
Elliot made an instant impact after coming on, marking his arrival with a trademark lightning run and a brilliant finish. Two more goals followed before half-time — a fantastic solo effort from Finley and another well-taken strike from him shortly after. The Tornados managed to get on the scoresheet, but Lightning went into the break with a commanding lead.
The second half continued in the same fashion. Ralph proved a constant menace up front, while Ronnie added two more to complete his hat-trick. Billy and Brayden also grabbed further goals to cap off their impressive performances. Although the Tornadoes managed to score twice more late on, the result was never in doubt as Lightning powered to a fully deserved victory — a truly electric performance ⚡.
Man of the Match: Angelo – for his excellent positioning, vital interceptions, and composed passing that kept the team’s shape throughout. ⚡
**Match Report
Ashton on Mersey Mambas 3 - 3 Beechfield United STORM U'12's
The Beechy boys travelled away to unbeaten team Ashton on Mersey Mambas carrying a number of injuries. We did however welcome 2 new faces Nadal Bowes and Jack Whitfield for their Beechy debuts.
Unlike in recent weeks Beechy went off like a train, taking the game to Ashton. The midfield 4 were controlling the game and creating chances and it wasn’t long before the ball was played through midfield, found Ismail Adetona who skipped past his man and hit a sublime shot from 20 years to put us 1-0 up. Beechy continued to dominate the early stages, looking assured at the back while bossing the midfield and looking really dangerous every attack. The second goal came after the ball broke in the box after a corner and Ismail showing great awareness to be in the right place at the right time and got his second poking home from close range.
That woke up Ashton and they grew into the half but some resolute collective defending from the whole team meant we managed to keep them at bay until they did pull one back after a scramble in the box. Then a moment that turned the half, Ashton were awarded a very dubious penalty for handball which they put away for 2-2.
That’s how the half ended 2-2. Disappointing for the boys not to go in at least a goal up but a fantastic performance that showed how far we’ve come. We talked about more of the same second half.
Into the second half it was a bit back to the wall for 10 mins but Beechy were always looking dangerous on the break. Some heroic defending and fantastic goalkeeping from our stand in keeper Josh Lowry kept the Aston team at bay and following one of the Beechy breakaways Austin Pierce picked up the ball in the box and showed great feet to beat his man and was pulled back for a penalty. Austin confidently stepped up and took the pen and side footed it into the bottom right corner sending the keeper the wrong way to put us back in the lead.
Aston started to pile on the pressure but in the main we deal with any threat until they managed to bundle home from a corner to make it 3-3. This led to a proper end to end last 10 mins where both teams missed good chances to win it but it wasn’t to be and on reflection 3-3 was probably a fair result.
Man of the match was shared between two players - Denholm Brookes, he was composed and assured in midfield and Josh Lowry, our stand in keeper and what a fantastic performance he put on for us today.
Special mentions to the two new boys, Nadal was fantastic today showing great composure and unreal feet to slice through their midfield a number of times and put in an absolute shift. Jack was equally impressive, beat his man regularly on the left and worked really hard for the team.
Also special mentions to Joel Momoh and Kobe Glass who filled in at the back in particularly unfamiliar positions to them but did a great job for us.
And finally special mention to Barkely Pope who played 15 mins for us despite not being well today showing his commitment to the cause.
