- Hat-Trick For Max In 4-0 Away Win
Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior team were looking to secure their first away win of the season when they travelled to play Medlock Rangers.
The hosts had lost their first three games of the season but have recently made several new signings so Beechy needed to be at their best to guarantee their 4-0 victory. Making a strong and positive start Beechy were soon on the attack and both Danny Alder and Max Leonard went close to scoring an early goal. Medlock's defenders managed to block all United's efforts until Beechy made the breakthrough through the league's top goal scorer Max Leonard who zoomed in from the left flank and added a calm finish for the opening goal. Then Max showed his goal scoring ability again in this Division 1 fixture and Beechy went into the break holding a comfortable 2-0 lead.
In the second half United continued to dominate the match with Beechy's twin centre halves Tom Scott and Anthony Wallis easily dealing with any potential threat Medlock could offer. Following great work by Issiaka Saba on the left wing Max Leonard completed a fully deserved hat-trick (his third in four games) when he made it 3-0. Another Beechy substitute Gary Wallis was on target via a fine strike to wrap up the three points and round off the scoring with United's fourth goal.
