Beechfield United Saturday Morning Seniors final pre-season match was a home game against Manchester North End and last season following the Division 1 fixtures the teams had a share of the spoils.

United Manager Kyle Wray had a large squad available and Beechy took control early in the game pushing North End deep into their own half. Wes Pierce started the match leading the line and he caused the visitors defence all sorts of problems. A great through pass from Joel Sharples split the North End central defenders and Wes Pierce calmly took the ball round the keeper and slotted it home to put Beechy 1-0 up. However United were caught napping and against the run of play North End equalised almost immediately following a cross into the six yard box. HT 1-1.

In the second half Beechy upped the tempo as they moved the ball around with more pace and accuracy and after squandering several chances regained the lead. Joel Sharples was on target with his third goal in four games thanks to a great turn and finish from just inside the area. North End rarely threatened another equaliser and United were able to secure a deserved 2-1 victory ending the pre-season unbeaten with 4 wins and 1 draw.
