The 2017/2018 season got underway for Beechfield United's Junior Section but there were just two games played on the opening day both in the Bolton Bury and District League.

Newly promoted team the Under 17's Tornadoes now playing in Section B met AFC Dobbies Blacks at Stott Lane and celebrated a fully deserved 7-3 win. Straight from the kick-off Beechy took control of the match and raced into a 2-0 lead before AFC Dobbies reduced the arrears from the penalty spot. United went 3-1 up but AFC Dobbies fought back again and following a free kick got a second goal then scored again for 3-3. After stepping up a gear the Beechy lads regained their grip on the match and fired in four more goals without reply and sealed a fully deserved victory. Troy Walker (2) Kai Mitchell (2) Mason White, Taylor Schofield and Louis Lawrence got the goals.

The Under 14's Tornadoes began their Section E campaign with a home game against Prestwich Marauders Sharks. Despite dominating a large percentage of the match Beechy wasted a glut of clear cut chances plus United were handicapped following injuries to two key defenders. The contest produced a total of eleven goals but the Tornadoes were on the wrong end of a 7-4 score line. Goalscorers for United were Man of the Match Charlie Wallwork (2) Ellis Kenny and Mathew Bennett.
