In the Junior Section eighteen Beechfield United teams played the first official league games on the opening day of the 2024/2025 season.

*On Sunday morning in the East Manchester Junior Football League Beechy Under 16's THUNDER kicked-off their Division 3 campaign with an away game against Boundary Park Juniors. Following an even start to the contest Beechy went a goal down and despite dominating possession Thunder suddenly found themselves trailing 2-0. Thunder continued to look dangerous when on the attack and on one occasion an effort by Rafael Djacy forced a great one-handed save from the hosts keeper. Beechy who should have been at least level at the break made a positive start in the second half and almost reduced the arrears. Keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker launched a long ball forward and after Rafael Djacy saw his effort saved Sultan Oladoja controlled the rebound and set-up Jack Greenhalgh who's shot hit the post. A close range header by Zach Davies also hit a post before Thunder did get a goal back via Rafael Djacy following another accurate kick downfield by Oliver Dalton-Bunker. With their heads held high Beechy surged forward and equalised after a move between Zach Davies and Rafael Djacy who was on target again for 2-2. The goal produced joyous scenes in the closing stages and though Boundary Park searched for a late match winning goal Thunder defended superbly and a draw was the very least they deserved. Man of the Match was Rafael Alacron.

*The Under 17's HURRICANES stepped into a new season and a new Division with lots of unknowns in the Bolton Bury and District League. As soon as the Hurricanes Section B away game with De La Salle began they quickly found their stride passing the ball with accuracy, refusing to be bullied and playing with structure and intensity. Hurricanes Manager Kennedy Chirwa asked for a clean sheet and the Beechy Boys played throughout with this in mind while the Hurricanes new goalkeeper James Kavanagh took charge of his defence as he showed great organising skills. Beechy deservedly took the lead when Luke Kennedy went on a run down the left wing and delivered a perfect pass to Paul Connolly who added a calm finish for the opening goal. Leading 1-0 at half time the Hurricanes upped the tempo even more as they outplayed their opponents in every department. Karo Ibodje who had a slight injury netted Beechy's second goal after breaking behind the hosts defence and chipping the ball over the keeper. Following more great football the Hurricanes added goal number three thanks to Nahom Berhame and to cap it off Oliver Sheridan sent a perfect through ball onto Ethan Mangwiro and he completed the scoring to guaranteed Beechy the three points and a brilliant 4-0 victory. For his composure, dominance and all-round play Danny Gregory was named the Hurricanes Man of the Match.

*In the Salford and District League the Under 15's TORNADOES met Monton Sports away for their first Division 2 fixture of the new season. The Tornadoes were rewarded with a narrow 3-2 victory courtesy of solid team display and two goals from Joshua Beddows and one by Jayden Hoye who scored Beechy's match winner in the closing seconds.

*Great playing conditions at Stott Lane set the scene for Beechy Under 12's TORNADOES first Division 2 9v9 fixture of the new season against Salford Storm. In most of their pre-season games Beechy have been slow starters so on this occasion the message to the players was get an early goal and try and impose themselves on the game. Lucio Riva scored with his left foot for Tornadoes first goal after Luke Bennett zoomed down the wing and cut the ball back to Lucio who added the finish. Lucio was on target again when in a 1v1 went round the keeper then Luke Bennett added the third goal and Daniel Badewa scored number four and just before half time Beechy keeper Harvey Pugh made an outstanding leg save. In the second half the Tornadoes maintained their momentum and Zach Mackinnon got amongst the goalscorers and with two well taken goals Max Blood ended Beechy's scoring spree. Against the run of play Salford Storm got a consolation goal midway through the second half. Tyler Ackernley was voted Man of the Match for a fantastic performance in both midfield and defence.

*Four new players were in action for Beechy Under 11's TORNADOES in their Yellow Group 9v9 away game against Winton Mavericks. Goalkeeper Ty Dobson, Mason Stockton, Dawood Fakeeh and Grayson Evans all made their Tornadoes debut. Beechy started well and Grayson Evans had a goal disallowed for offside after good work from Dawood Fakeeh but Grayson didn't have to wait long to get on target when he gave Beechy the lead. The Tornadoes continued to put pressure on their opponents and via an angled shot Alex McGrory forced a diving save from the agile Mavericks keeper before a second Beechy goal arrived through Sam Omoregie who produced a powerful effort from just inside the area. Defenders Aidan Thompson, Mason Stockton, Ralph Theaker, Freya Quinn and Alex McGrory kept it tight at the back and shortly before half time Dawood Fakeeh scored his first goal for the club and this was swiftly followed by another goal for Grayson Evans as the Tornadoes dominated the game. The second half continued in the same manner as the first and on two occasions Jayden Lowe used his pace and skill to race clear but his efforts were saved well by the Mavericks keeper. Ryan Cordingley went close to finding the back of the net before Beechy added extra pressure and eventually Harry Myddleton fired home a great fifth Tornadoes goal. Winton Mavericks were rewarded with a consolation goal prior to Beechy adding another five that included three more for Dawood and two more for Grayson an incredible achievement for both players who shared Man of the Match. Throughout the game the team spirit and work rate was visibly clear and though the Tornadoes will face tougher teams they should be in for an exciting season.

*Beechy Under 11's STORM got their 9v9 season underway away at Old Trafford Juniors. Wearing their new all red away kit for the first time the Beechy Boys went into the game full of confidence following a few good results pre-season. Old Trafford kicked-off this Blue Group fixture and making a strong start forced Storm onto the back foot but Beechy responded with some fantastic defending and good goalkeeping to keep the scores even. Storm gradually began to play with more freedom and during a free flowing move Ismail Adentona went on a run down the right flank and his pinpoint cross found Jack Sinclair who fired the ball towards the corner of the net only for the hosts keeper to pull off a world class save. During another period of possession another great save from Trafford's goalie foiled a superb effort by Austin Pierce. Despite controlling play Beechy went a goal down following a quick counter-attack and the Old Trafford striker produced a fine finish as he opened the scoring. Storm worked hard to get back level but they still found themselves trailing at half time and within five minutes of the second half Beechy went two goals down. It was beginning to look like a day of missed chances for Storm until the ball broke to Jack Sinclair who created the perfect angle before hammering it into the top corner of the net to reduce the arrears. Some great work by Barkley Pope on the right wing set-up debut boy Denholm Brooks who's finish was perfect but the goal was disallowed due to a dubious offside decision. That didn't deter the Beechy Boys as they kept the pressure on Old Trafford but a mix of good goalkeeping and wasteful finishing meant Storm were still a goal behind going into the final five minutes. As they gambled Beechy were caught on the break and the Old Trafford winger beat his marker before bending the ball with his left foot into the top corner of the net, a goal worthy of winning any game. The Beechy Boys were disappointed at full time but Storm's team officials couldn't be more proud of the players fantastic effort and the boys will learn from this defeat and comeback even stronger. Man of the Match was debutant Joel Momoh who word tirelessly on the wing and he looked really comfortable considering it was his first ever game other than playing for school and he will be a top player for Storm this season.

*For the first game in their new league the Under 11's LIGHTNING (9v9) were in action against Manchester Polonia. This season all Beechy's games in the Manchester Youth Super League will be played at a central venue. The Beechy Boys adapted well to the pitch conditions and produced some lovely football but against the run of play Polonia scored two goals before Man of the Match Austin Fillingham reduced the arrears with a brilliant free kick. Lightning had all the momentum heading towards half time as they created loads of chances from more good football but Polonia added a third goal before the break. The second half was almost identical to the first with Beechy controlling the game and once again creating chances and the hard work finally paid off when Charlie Drury broke through the Polonia defence and slotted a lovely low shot past the keeper for Lightning's second goal. At this stage it looked as if there would be only one winner but unfortunately Polonia had all the luck and scored two late goals and win the game. The result really flattered Lightning's opponents because the Beechy players were fantastic and definitely didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

*Making a great winning start in the Salford and Districts League were Beechy Under 10's STORM who will attempt to go all season unbeaten. In the Red Group Storm were away at Monton Mad Dogs who have always been a difficult team to breakdown. But Beechy made a fast start and striker Bobby Lowe putting pressure on the hosts defence forced a mistake that resulted in Storm taking the lead within ten seconds. The relentless pressure didn't stop and Beechy were camped in their opponents half for the whole of the first twenty five minutes. Isaac Hargreaves won a free kick on the left wing and delivered the ball with perfection onto Alfie Heighway who's header netted Storm's second goal. Following more pressure Beechy extended their lead when the Monton keeper failed to deal with a shot by Isaac Hargreaves and Oscar Pugh controlled the rebound before sending the ball to Kade Doyle who's easy finish put Storm three goals ahead. A similar pattern developed in the second half but gradually Monton began to create chances that forced Beechy keeper George Savage to make some brave saves in 1v1 situations. Monton got a goal back before George was in action again pulling off more great saves but he was unable to stop a deflected shot that resulted in second Monton goal. The hosts kept the pressure on Beechy as they pushed for an equaliser but Storm stood firm and eventually secured the win. An automatic choice for Storm's Man of the Match was George Savage for his spectacular display and brilliant distribution.

*At home against Old Trafford Diamonds the Under 9's THUNDER got the new season underway in the Red Group. Moving to a 7v7 format Beechy were on top in the opening ten minutes but Thunder conceded the games first goal but Chase Sixsmith netted a quick equaliser for Thunder when he spotted the visitors keeper off his line. Plenty of chances were on offer for Beechy during the remainder of the first half but it was Old Trafford who scored again before half time and twice after to take a commanding lead. Archie Heighway playing his first game for the team a year up got on the end of a through ball to score a goal his display deserved. Old Trafford responded to restore the deficit before Beechy created a late fightback that saw Harrison Spencer's free kick deflect past the keeper and Chase Sixsmith scrambling the ball home from a tight angle before Thunder ran out of time. For a battling midfield display Harry Wright was named Man of the Match plus there were good debuts for Tiffany Kandemiri and Ezra Ramage.

*Away to Winton Wanderers Blazers the Under 9's STORM met a team they played against in pre-season friendly games. The hosts welcomed Beechy and their travelling fans and this match definitely had the hallmarks for a good battle between the teams. Id's were checked and the players shook hands while the fans respected the silent weekend and from the kick-off Storm felt the pressure as Winton quickly attacked and Beechy keeper Rocky Linehan made a few important saves. The hosts took the lead and Storm looked rattled due to first game nerves a familiar sight similar to last season but Beechy quickly bounced back. Jacob McLoughlin flew down the wing and curled a great cross to new signing Abraham Wojciechowski who's superb right footed effort went straight into the keepers hands. Within a minute Winton were awarded a penalty after the ball accidently hit the finger tips of a Beechy player and from the spot-kick the hosts took a two goal lead. Jacob dropped deep to make a few crucial tackles and interceptions while maintaining his position on the wing. Storm reduced the arrears when Corey Davies crossed the ball to Charlie Schofield who confidently slotted it into the bottom left hand corner of the net. Jude Aimson was introduced and was quickly involved in the action while left back Lucas King made some tough challenges to win the ball as the hosts pressed high up the pitch and Winton added a third goal before half time. The second half was much the same as Storm carried on with their uphill battle and Beechy looked more threatening though several decent chances went begging. Both Charlie and Finlay Rosevere struggled to find the back of the net after weaving their way past the Winton defenders. The hosts continued to play their passing game and added two more goals and Storm made a tactical change that saw Jude and Corey swap places on the pitch. Jude impressed with his man marking and understanding while Corey had had a few good efforts on target late in the game. Storm's Man of the Match was given to Jacob McLoughlin who was the teams knight in shining armour.

*The Under 7's STORM played their first official Salford and Districts Junior League game against Swinton Lions and the Beechy Boys were determined to make an impressive start. The Lions made every effort to take the lead forcing Beechy's goalkeeper Harry Felton to made some very good saves. After being slow out of the traps Storm came came alive as Archie Amos produced several surging runs and Jaxx Reilly made some great ball winning tackles. Theo Lockett showed his speed on the pitch to all the parents many times before Beechy opened the scoring when Reni Haycock sent a great ball onto Louie Phythian and he sent the ball into the net with his chest. Ollie Scott scored a perfect goal to put Storm two goals up but Swinton Lions replied with two quick fire goals then with his first ever goal for the team Noah Alder restored Beechy's lead though the Lions equalised again via a dubious penalty. Both teams worked hard to find the vital goal to win the game and it finally arrived after Ollie Scott went on a solo run and with a superb strike fired the ball home that produced joyous scenes in the Beechy camp.

*Man of the Match Aldo Gannon was the headline maker for the Under 7's Thunder when he scored all seven goals in his teams first game of the season in the Salford and District Junior League. Beechy who were away at Moorside Rangers Yellow looked nervous as they struggled with the bounce of the ball on the Astroturf Pitch. But eventually Thunder started to show how much they had improved over the last six months as they battled like hardened warriors. Beechy had reduced the arrears by half time but they never quite recovered from their slow start and lost the game that produced fifteen goals.
