*JBAS Madrid versus Beechfield Storm U8*

Storm U8 with a resounding performance and victory to effectively pick up where they left off from last years final!

Storm welcomed two new league debutants in Imad and Caleb who both had a big impact in the game!

Starting a slightly unfamiliar line up with Alfie starting in midfield as well as the team playing on Astro in a competitive game for the first time since I can remember - there may have been a cause for concern though Beechy took absolute control of the game from the off.

James was to open the scoring with a shot from the edge of the box saved and as he bounded in finishing the follow up past the goal keeper. Following a loss of possession it was Fred who took the ball on from defence, strode into midfield and smashed it into the back of the net from outside of the box. A third didn’t feel it was to far away as James put Alfie through who unselfishly chose to square and try to find Fred when shooting may have been the better option!

Imad took the field and he didn’t take long to announce himself - James on fire now played an intricate through ball to Imad splitting the defence who ran through, finished well to take the game to three.

JBAS started to react and with a long distance free kick taken with the defence out of position and surprising Vincent in goal made it to the back of the net.

Storm kept pushing penning JBAS in their own half passing with Imad, Caleb, George and Fred controlling their box & were unlucky not to get more with Caleb knocking on the door - however the team went into the half with the score intact

Coming out in the second with the tactical advice in their ears Beechy stepped up a gear - Imad took his second with another assist by James threading him through and shortly after Imad on the wing crossing in from the left to find his classmate Caleb who having had a couple chances in the first half made no mistake finishing well past the goal keeper. Caleb then turned provider running at the defender, sliding the ball to James who finished for his second with a half volley into the side netting.

With power play implemented JBAS were able to hit back with some absolute wonder goals going in - one from a freekick again and another from a break leaving Alfie no chance in goal! Their fourth came from a clearance and their goal machine got his 4th with an unstoppable finish.

At this point defence became imperative with some last stitch tackling on show from George, Alfie and one from Caleb!

In between though Beechy continued their foray into the opposition half with Imad picking up a loose ball and completing his hattrick as well as James turning provider for Caleb sending in a lofted kick in from around the half way which found its way to Caleb on the edge of the box, who shot and tucked in the bottom right off the post.

Great start showing a lot of early promise with the volume of passes & intended assists! On to the next one for Storm!!

*Moment of the match:*
With power play implemented Caleb busting a lung to somehow get back and make a last stitch challenge.

*MOTM:*
Special mention to Imad for his hattrick and a couple of assists though MOTM narrowly went to *James* - really a flawless performance - was asked to plus multiple positions through the game - playing in attack was decisive, his assists were selfless and in defence he was unbeatable.
