- Junior Section Match Details 12/9/2020
Four Beechfield United Junior Section teams were in action when they played their opening day games of the 2020/2021 season on Saturday 12th September.
Beechy Under 15's Storm made a winning start following their Section C away game with Swinton Lions. With some new players on view Storm made a quick start in this Bolton Bury and District League fixture and both Alfie Jones and Jayden Okoli went close to giving Beechy an early lead. Storm eventually went ahead after Abraham Abiola caused real problems for the Lions defenders and Jonny Walsh had an easy finish for the opening goal. Swinton Lions struggled to get a foothold in the game and controlling the contest Storm were good value for their 1-0 lead at half time. As they continued to hold the upper hand in the second half Beechy added a second goal when Abraham Abiola was on target again flicking the ball over the Swinton goalie. Keeping the pressure on their opponents Storm were guaranteed their 3-0 victory after Leo Barrett capped a fine performance as he smashed the ball into the roof of the net to complete the scoring.
Also in the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 17's Tornadoes started with an away game against local rivals Moorside Rangers Blue. This Section C match produced seven goals and the Tornadoes were very unlucky to suffer a 4-3 defeat. Jacob Jeffrey who was making his debut netted two goals and Jake Rhodes-Clarke fired home the other Beechy goal. Voted Tornadoes Best Player was goalkeeper Lucas Allen.
Away to Kersal FC in the North Bury Junior League's Premiership Yellow Division the Under 16's Storm ended up on the wrong end of a 3-2 score line. Zion Agbiji was named Storm's Man of the Match and goals for Beechy came via Archie Cooper and Adam Rothwell.
Making a disappointing start to the new campaign were Beechy Under 16's Thunder who kicked-off their Premiership Division season in the North Bury Junior League with an away game at Middleton Lads Green. Despite a heavy defeat new singings Ryley Walker and Luke Cunliffe produced positive performances for Thunder. Dominic Lawton scored Beechy's consolation goal.
