*Another busy Saturday and Sunday in the Junior Section produced a mixed bag of results in the Salford and Districts League, Bolton Bury and Districts League and East Manchester Junior League.

**Beechy Under 7's THUNDER played their first home game of the season against a very strong Flixton Junior Raptors side. After going a goal down the Beechy Boys gradually put pressure on the visitors and were rewarded with an equaliser via Zac Vaughan. Soon after Thunder added their second goal courtesy of Aldo Gannon but Beechy were still four goals in arrears at half time. Showing a lot more character in the second half Thunder created numerous chances and Team Captain Ronnie Green was on target with the third goal. Beechy's fourth goal was the result of some great one-touch passing down the right wing and a fine finish from Aldo Gannon. Thunder's players continued to display their true character and despite losing the game kept going to the final whistle. Special mention to Thunder's trophy winners Raurie Brassington, George Lawson and Zac Vaughan.

**The Under 16's HURRICANES with in action following their first away trip of the season when they played Longsight Eagles. Faced with a later than normal kick-off time Beechy conceded the opening goal but the Hurricanes got back level thanks to Rafael Djacy. The hosts regained the lead though Beechy responded again in the best possible way when Alfie Rostron was on target for 2-2. Alfie added his second goal in the game giving the Hurricanes a 3-2 lead at the break following a topsy-turvy first forty minutes. Beechy went 4-2 up via Joshua Whitehead who scored direct from a corner but Longsight Eagles managed to claw their way back into the game with two goals in quick succession. This eight goal thriller finished all-square at 4-4 but the Hurricanes were left wondering that it could have been different had they held on to their two goal lead. Goalkeeper Max Gill-Williams was named Man of the Match.

**In the Under 11's Blue Group Beechy STORM (9v9) were involved in a one-sided affair away against Boothstown Hornets. Soon on the front foot Storm played some good football and after three/four chances the deadlock was broken. During a great move Ismail Adetona produced some excellent play and though his shot was blocked the ball fell nicely for Max Schofield on the edge of the area and Max beat an opponent before drilling it into the bottom corner of the net. Beechy continued to pile on the pressure and after more great work through midfield Ismail Adetona saw efforts hit both posts in quick succession. Boothstown Hornets were limited to just a few counter-attacks but these were confidently dealt with by a solid Beechy back three. Despite their dominance Storm struggled to find a second goal until Harry Wharton delivered a great pass to Denholm Brooks who took a touch on the ball and scored via a top quality finish. With their first shot on target and against the run of play Boothstown reduced the arrears but Beechy weren't fazed by the min- setback and continuing to create chances were quickly back in control when Kobe Glass from inside the area fired the ball home for Storm's third goal.

A similar pattern developed in the second half as Beechy kept a tight grip on the game and they increased their lead. Ismail Adetona saw another effort hit the post before Max Schofield went on a solo run and he beat three Boothstown players before winning a penalty that he took himself adding Storm's fourth goal with the spot-kick. As Beechy searched for more goals they were let down by a few stray passes and slack finishing but they did add to their goals tally through Denholm Brooks following superb play down the right wing by Barkley Pope. Every Beechy player played their part in this brilliant team performance. Voted Man of the Match was Denholm Brooks who netted two well taken goals in only his second game for the Storm.

**Away against Mountfield Rovers the Under 11's LIGHTNING (9v9) had a really tough match in the Manchester Youth Super League. There weren't many positives to take from this Division 2 fixture apart from he fact that the Beechy Boys worked non-stop against the odds. Lightning who struggled to get out of their own half during the game conceded three goals in the first half and two in the second half. Man of the Match for Beechy was goalkeeper James Hardman who made some fantastic saves.

**For their home game with Stretford Victoria the Under 11's TORNADOES (9v9) were in a confident mood following last weeks impressive victory. But this Yellow Group contest started badly for Beechy when after a defensive error the visitors to Beech Farm Playing Fields took the lead within two minutes. The early goal rocked the Tornadoes and Stretford Victoria who were the better team in the opening ten minutes could have increased their lead but Ty Dobson rescued Beechy with several good saves. Slowly the Tornadoes grew in confidence and after a couple of half chances got back level following a lovely flowing move. Alex McGrory played a great through ball to Ryan Cordingley on the right wing and Ryan sent a magnificent cross to the back post where Dawood Fakeeh was waiting and he netted the equaliser. Beechy then started to to play the game in their opponents half and more chances followed the best one available to Dawood who's effort was superbly tipped onto the post by the Stretford keeper. As they committed more players forward the Tornadoes were twice caught on the break and just before half time Stretford Albion scored to identical goals. There was an evenly balanced start in the second half and Beechy knew the next goal was vital but unfortunately it was scored by the visitors. The Tornadoes mounted a fightback and reduced the deficit through Ryan Cordingley but once again as they pushed forward Beechy always looked susceptible against the visitors counter-attacks and Stretford Albion secured the win with a fifth goal. Late in the game Grayson Evans went close to another goal for the Tornadoes and on the balance of play Stretford Albion probably deserved their victory. Well done to Ryan Cordingley who was named Player of the Match.

**On the Astroturf Pitch at Co-op Academy School Walkden the Under 14's STORM played their first Division 1 home game of the season. In the Salford and Districts League Beechy's opponents were Salford United Boys and Storm played throughout the match with just eleven players. In a gutsy all-round performance Storm conceded the opening goal but they fought back and equalised via Ehiremen Ehijie who met a superb cross by Olly Bottomley and producing the highlight of the game headed the ball high into the net. Salford United who were always a big treat going forward regained the lead before half while in the second half Beechy worked hard but created only a few chances. The visitors added a third goal despite a suspicion of handball before the ball was deflected into the net. Reuben Wardle, Harry Wallis and Nathan Kay all produced top-class performances.

**Following their first Salford and Districts League home game of the season Beechfield United Under 15's TORNADOES went to the top of the Division 2 table. The Tornadoes secured a 2-0 victory and the three points with an early goal by Jayden Lowe and a second in second half stoppage time from Finn Browne.

**Another Beechy team holding top-spot in their respective league are the Under 17's HURRICANES who won their Section B home game with Bolton County Boys 5-1. In this Bolton Bury and District League fixture the Hurricanes started off slower and less energetic than expected plus they made mistakes as they were hustled physically by their opponents. But Beechy managed to grab the lead when after a short corner Nahom Berhame got on the end of a cross and coolly placed the ball into the net. Bolton County equalised when the Hurricanes were punished for giving the ball away in midfield and the visitors made it 1-1. Alfie Gridlestone delivered the perfect pass that sent Luke Kennedy on a clear run and via a calm finish Luke restored Beechy's lead. The tempo of the match began to pick up but the Hurricanes were still guilty of wasting possession cheaply so their lead at the break was only a slender one. Beechy picked up the pace and in reply while in reply Bolton County increased their physicality and aggression. From a throw-in taken by Danny Gregory the ball skimmed of the top of a visitors defender and past the keeper and into the net and the Hurricanes went 3-1 up. Then Luke Kennedy played the ball from the left channel and arriving from the other wing was Yafet Ogubay who netted Beechy fourth goal. The highlight of the day arrived when Michael Munden who completed the scoring met the ball first time with a well placed left foot shot that sailed into the top corner of the net. Man of the Match went to Nahom Berhame who kept the midfield ticking, was never rushed and produced an altogether accomplished performance.

**After their first two games in the Manchester Youth Super League Beechy Under 10's THUNDER remain unbeaten. In Division 2 Thunder shared four goals in their opening game with Rochdalians Panthers then Beechy played St Johns Chorlton and secured a fully deserved victory. Goalscorers for Thunder in the two games were Sonny Phillips, Harley Cosgrove-Newby, Edan McHugh and Deo Wai Wai.

**Manager Ben Robinson had a full squad available for the Under 16's THUNDER versus Cheadle & Gatley fixture on Sunday morning. In this East Manchester Junior League Division 3 home game Beechy found themselves 3-0 down at half time despite an evenly balanced first forty minutes. Josh Whitehead reduced the arrears but Cheadle & Gatley went 4-1 up following a well struck free kick from thirty yards. Thunder got another goal back when an excellent corner by Josh caused havoc in the penalty area and after the ball was half cleared Devon Birkett fired in home from close range. Result Thunder 2 v Cheadle & Gatley 4. Starting line-up: Oliver DB, Daniel, Rafa, Matty, Rudolf, Temi, Sol, Mihail, Zach B, Djacy, Devon. Substitutes: Josh, Zach D, Jack, Pedro, Sultan.
