- Junior Section Match Details 16th September 2017
For the second successive Saturday morning there were only two official league games played in the Junior Section. Beechy Under 17s's Tornadoes were in involved in a highly charged away game with Seedfield Sports. The appointed referee failed to arrive so two Seedfield officials took charge of the match officiating one half each. In this Bolton Bury and District League Section B fixture the Tornadoes went two goals up but Seedfield reduced the arrears before half time. Beechy led 3-1 prior to a couple of poor decisions that gifted Seedfield two more goals and the contest eventually finished level at 3-3. Goals for United came via Lucas Morgan (2) and Louis Lawrence.
Also in action in the Bolton Bury and District League were United's Under 14's Tornadoes who travelled to play Adlington JFC Lazers. Always the better team throughout this Section E match United kept a tight grip on the game and secured the three points thanks to a 2-1 victory. The Tornadoes had two goals disallowed plus a Beechy player missed a penalty and late in the game Adlington Lazers were reduced to ten players following a red card incident. Charlie Wallwork who scored the winning goal and Man of the Match Fernley Davies (2) were on target.
With the 2017/2018 season delayed for all Beechy teams who are registered with the Salford and District League a couple of United's teams arranged friendly games. The Under 11's Typhoon players who moved up from mini-soccer to 9v9 football met Ladybridge Wanderers. This evenly balanced contest proved to be highly entertaining and it was Ladybridge who won the match that produced six goals. Following a top-class display in defence Freddie Latham was named Man of the Match while Beechy scored goals through Cole Winstanley and Jamie Withington.
Dylan Courtney and Alfie Lacey fired in the goals for the Under 8's Tornadoes in their friendly match against Urmston Town Storm. The teams shared four goals and voted the Tornadoes Best Player was Stewart Kay.
