There were several impressive Team Performances in the Junior Section during the second weekend of the 2023/2024 season.

*The Under 8's THUNDER got off to a winning start to the season following their Red Group away game at Winton Wanderers Vikings. Captain Harry Wright led the team onto the pitch and Thunder made a confident start but fell behind after a long range effort found the top corner of the net. But a minute leater Beechy were back level when after receiving the ball on the left wing Jude Bond beat his marker and finished from a tight angle. Thunder took the lead through George Kelly who from inside the area fired the ball low into the net. The best move of the match almost produced a third Beechy goal when Antonio Embalo delivered a great pass onto George Kelly and his cross was nearly trned into the net by Jude Bond. The second period was almost exclusively played in Winton's half and though Thunder defended superbly and missed a few chances they held out for the win. Beechy's Man of the Match was Grayson Owen who edged-out Oscar Spencer and both players shared the goalkeeping duties but it was in defence where they both excelled.

*A strong Winton Wanderers Marvels were the Under 10's STORM oppponents when the teams met at Beech Farm Playing Fields. In an evenly balanced first half chances were few and far between and both goalkeepers were in top form. Showing great tenacity on the right wing Barkley Pope beat two Winton players and his superb cross was met by Harvey King who made no mistake when he gave Storm the lead. Both teams continued to create chances in another high energy twenty five minutes and Beechy should have increased their lead but were denied several times by the Winton keeper. This was a top performance in the Blue Group from the Beechy Boys who always displayed good attitude and committment plus lots of hard work. Storm's Man of the Match was goalkeeper Jayden Royle who produced a display way beyond his years.

*Playing away against Salford Storm the Under 10's TORNADOES dominated this Green Group game from start to finish. Beechy's passing of the ball was great so was the players attitude but Storm just couldn't find a goal while Salford Storm managed to put the ball in the net just once to win the game, It proved a difficult task choosing a Player of the Match but Alex McGrory got the award following a fine battling display.

*The Under 12's THUNDER were in action away at Salford Storm Tornadoes and though both teams were evenly matched it was Salford Storm who won this 9v9 encounter. The hosts were on top throughout the first half and scored four goals without reply to hold a strong lead at the break. In the second period Thunder got to grips with the game and most of the play was in Salford Storm's half. Ajab Fakeeh was on target when he pulled a goal back for Beechy but the hosts added two more goals late in the game.

*At home to neighbours Moorside Rangers Blues the Under 12's TORNADOES (9v9) knew they faced a difficult sixty minutes. The Salford and District Junior League are still trying to put the teams into their correct Divisions and Rangers should be in a much higher division so there is no reason to pay much attention to this game and the result. The Beechy Boys fought valiantly and at times played some good football but it was Rangers who ran out comfortable winners.

*Away at Longsight Eagles the Under 14's TORNADOES made it two SDJFL Division 2 games unbeaten. Despite trailing 2-1 in the second half the Tornadoes kept their nerve and were rewarded with a 3-2 victory. On target for Beechy were Finn Browne and Oscar Mather who scored two goals to add to his previous games hat-trick.

*On Saturday morning the Under 15's HURRICANES were away against Deans Youth Orange and a full strength squad was available for this Division 1 fixture. Beechy opened the scoring via Oliver Nangle after a long range effort from Joshua Whitehead. The Hurricanes who made several substitutions during the first half still held their narrow one goal lead at the break. Playing up a slight slope in the second half Beechy would have to be at their best if they were going to stay ahead. Deans equalised via a shot from thirty yards that was caught in the wind and the ball looped over Hurricanes goalie Max Gill-Williams and into the net. The hosts had a goal disallowed for handball prior to Beechy's second which eventually guaranteed their victory. A great run by Man of the match Henry Errington set-up another attack that ended when Rafael Djacy took a touch on the ball before turning it into the bottom corner of the net.

*On a 4G Astroturf Pitch in bright sunshine the Under 15's THUNDER met Brendon Bees for their second East Manchester Junior League Division 3 fixture. With an experimental line-up on view Beechy took the lead after winning a penalty and from the spot-kick Joshua Whitehead sent the hosts keeper the wrong way for 1-0. An end to end first half that included several chances for both teams ended with Thunder holding onto their one goal advantage. A defensive mix-up following a goal kick resulted in Brendon Bees getting back level via an unlucky own goal. Thunder were still reeling after conceding the equaliser when the hosts attacked again and a Bees striker was gifted an easy finish when he secured the hosts their 2-1 victory in the dying seconds. Rudolf Yeboah was named Beechy's Best Player.
