Kicking off the new season in the Manchester Football League Beechy's 1st Team faced a tough ninety minutes at home against Dukinfield Town and suffered a 4-0 defeat. The A Team opened up their campaign winning 2-1 away at Dukinfield Development.

At Astley Sports College the first half of their away game against Dukinfield Development proved to be a frustrating one for United's A Team. Newly promoted to Division 4 Beechy should have been out of sight but easy chances were wasted by Callum Davies and Nathan Bester and after the first forty five minutes it was 0-0. United Manager Mark McWilliams changed his teams formation from 4-4-3 to 4-5-1 and this paid dividends when Beechy took the lead via Callum Davies. Dukinfield found a few gaps in United's defence but failed to have one shot on target until Josh Egan fouled a hosts striker in the area and from the resulting penalty Dukinfield equalised.

Beechy endured another frustrating period as they remained in control but they were eventually rewarded with the match winning goal. At the end of another breakaway move Callum Davies netted his second goal of the game when he outpaced the Dukinfield defence and slotted the ball past the keeper from an acute angle. Ben Walker had a great chance to add a third Beechy goal and in the closing stages United had to survive some nervous moments but they hung on to collect all three points via a 2-1 victory. Back wearing a Beechy kit was Tom Allcock who's performance at left back earned the Man of the Match award.
