- Senior Section Match Details 17/9/2022
In Action in the Senior Section on Saturday 17th September 2022 were Beechy U/17's Storm, Under 21's Tornadoes and the Saturday Morning Senior Team.
*In their first game of the season goals by Evan Hodson-Griffiths (2) and Josh Everall earned the Under 17's Storm a well deserved Section B 3-2 away win over Atherton Colls Vipers. Considering Beechy hadn't played a single pre-season friendly this was a brilliant performance in the Bolton Bury and District League and every player earned an 8/10 score. Max Hinchy was Storm's Man of the Match.
*Beechy's new team in the Senior Section the Under 21's Tornadoes kicked-off their season in the Bolton Bury and District League with a home fixture against Dukinfield Town but lost the opening game 5-1. Conditions were ideal for football and Beechy made a positive start taking the lead via Max O'Brien following a move involving Dominic Lawton and Ishor Bajgai. In a high energy contest the visitors forced Beechy to waste possession far too easily and Dukinfield equalised after some slack defending Tornadoes defending. A throw-in resulted in Beechy going 2-1 down then another piece of poor defending gifted Dukinfield their third goal. In the 35th minute the Tornadoes had a goal disallowed for offside following a free kick by Joe Cox and despite creating a few decent chances Beechy trailed 3-1 at the break.
Early in the second half Dukinfield continued to force more vital defending from the Tornadoes and Samuel Oludoyi, Thomas Egerton and Tyler Winstanley all made important headed clearances, interceptions and ball winning tackles when under pressure. Beechy's team coaches made several permitted substitutions in an effort to get a better foothold in the contest but the Tornadoes rarely got close enough to test the visitors keeper. There were good individual displays from Andrew Woodward and Jack Wild when they got their chance to shine from the substitutes bench. Once again due to more poor defending Beechy gifted Dukinfield two more goals in the final fifteen minutes.
*In the Manchester Saturday Amateur Cup Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior Team were in Preliminary Round action when they met Salford Vics Development Team. With home advantage Beechy secure a place in Round One following an easy victory and sharing the Man of the Match award were Wes Pierce and Matty McCusker who both scored goals. Also on target were Dylan Robinson (2) Ore Agbela (2) Issiaka Saba and Kyle Mears.
