Fourteen Beechfield United Junior Section teams were in action on Saturday morning while one team played their fixture on Sunday during the weekend of 24th/25th September 2017.

Following their Bolton Bury and District League Section B away game against Bolton County Warriors the in-form Under 17's Tornadoes topped the table on goal difference. Thanks to an outstanding all-round performance United collected the three points via a 2-1 victory. On target with the goals were Kai Mitchell and Taylor Schofield.

In the Salford and District League the Under 16's Storm got their 2017/2018 season under way with a Division One home fixture. At Littleton Road Beechy met Urmston Town Ravens and the teams fought out a 3-3 draw with goals for the Storm netted by Joe Cox, Tyler Davies and Fabian Yannie. Named Best Player was Josh Hayes.

The Under 14's Tornadoes were involved in the BBDL Players Cup and made progress in the competition after their 2-1 away win over Westbury Sports Lions. Billy Wadeson and Fernley Davies scored the goals for the Tornadoes who were a goal up shared a 1-1 score line at the break but were rewarded with a match winning goal midway in the second half.

Two of United's Under 13's teams began their seasons fixtures in their respective divisions and both sets of players experienced their first official taste of 11-a-side football. In Division 1 Beechy Under 13's Storm made a winning start following their away game at AFC Monton Thunder. Alex Vanden earned himself the Man of the Match Award and goalscorers for the Storm who celebrated a 4-1 victory were Joe Irving (2) Bailey Lloyd and Samuel Oludoyi.

Beechy Under 13's Thunder were at home for their initial Division 2 game against Deans Tigers at Duchy Road. Making a positive start to the contest United were rewarded with the opening goal through Jake O'Sullivan who was allowed lots of time on the ball before he fired it into the net. Deans fought back and equalised but Thunder regained the lead after Prince Idusuyi went on a storming run. Not much to separate the teams but Deans Tigers scored again making it 2-2 at half time. Deans started the stronger in the second half but Beechy produced some resolute defending and finding fresh impetus led 3-2 following a tremendous free kick taken by Jake Glass. For the next fifteen minutes Beechy dominated the game and added two more goals both scored by Prince Idusuyi who completed his hat trick. Beechy were leading 5-2 with ten minutes to go but due to complacency and a lack of discipline conceded three goals and were forced to settle for a 5-5 draw.

Several injured squad members forced the Under 12's Storm (9v9) to take on neighbours Moorside Rangers Blue with just eight players. The Beechy boys who trailed 2-0 at the break and eventually suffered a 6-1 defeat must be credited with an excellent all-round performance. Oliver Lawton scored the Storm's consolation goal and voted Man of the Match was Tawonga Chirwa.

There was a winning start to the season for the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) who had a Sunday fixture versus Manchester Maccabi Cubs. After travelling to their opponents ground the Tornadoes looked in good form as they clinched a 7-3 win. Charlie Mulvenna netted a hat trick Theo Valentine scored twice and there was a goal apiece for Bradley Oliver and Jack Fitton. The Man of the Match Award went to Rafael Silviera.

All three Under 11's teams who have moved from mini-soccer to 9v9 football were in action. Away to local rivals Moorside Rangers Yellow the Under 11's Storm battled back after going a goal down to secure a fully deserved victory. Freddie Jackson got United's equalising goal then Georgi Georgiev put the Storm ahead. As they continued to play some top-class soccer Beechy added a third goal when Caden Gibson set-up Josh McLoughlin before hitting the post himself after a great solo effort.

A vital moment just before half time in the Under 11's Typhoon's 9v9 opening Development Group Blue Division fixture with Barr Hill saw Sam Henderson's apparent equaliser disallowed. Play quickly switched to the other end of the pitch and Barr Hill scored again to lead 2-0 at the interval. Tiredness crept in during the second half as the Beechy players tried to find a way back into the match but Typhoon ended up suffering a fairly heavy defeat. Man of the Match was Joseph Bothamley.

The Development Group Yellow Division fixture between Beechy U11's Lightning (9v9) and Boothstown JFC Clarets was an action packed affair that included ten goals. Man of the Match David Olidoy (hat-trick) and Zain Davies were the goalscorers for United who lost the match.

Swinton Junior Lions were the Under 10's Storm's opponents at Beech Farm Playing Fields and it was the visitors who eventually won this Development Group Yellow Division encounter. Oliver Cowley collected the Storm's Best Player Award and Joshua Kilfoyle scored United's two goals.

Man of the Match Daniel Robinson (hat-trick) Lexi Hiles and Lloyd Hiles got the goals for Beechy Under 9's Hurricanes who played Urmston Town Tigers in their first league game of the season. The Hurricanes had home advantage in this Development Group Yellow Division fixture.

Also playing at home were the Under 9's Tornadoes and they entertained Winton Wanderers Spitfires. In action in the Development Group Blue Division the Tornadoes display certainly didn't lack commitment but unfortunately Beechy ended up as the losing side. New player Charlie Beckett got the teams only goal while Ewan Tierney was voted Best Player.

Producing a decent first half display in their Development Group Blue Division home game against Stretford Victoria Athletic were the Under 8's Tornadoes. Throughout the match Beechy came close to scoring several goals but the vital finishing touch was missing. Man of the Match went to goalkeeper Oliver Wood who produced a superb display and showed great sportsmanship as well.
