A game of two halves with Beechfield turning it on in the second half to blow away Parkwyddn with an unbeaten start to the year!
Extremely competitive with a physical battle throughout & with both teams trading blows the best of them initially fell to the visitors with the striker moving through striking the post with Alfie stranded. Storm did have chances with Henry and Imad having the best of them with either going wide or the goal keeper covering well. As the game settled Beechy began to take a foothold and the goal finally came from a well worked kick in as Henry noticed Fred unmarked, sent it across which Fred calmly turned on, picked out Caleb in the box who slotted bottom left.
Storm had to start the passing & moving a lot more and play on the front foot which they did after the break - Imad jubilant to see the switch to right wing and now shooting towards Beechfield were able to add to the lead. Firstly following a spilled ball by the opposition Imad raced and collected the ball finishing powerfully past the goalkeeper. His second came from a counter attack - following a great corner the defence of Alfie & Fred finally clearing the ball, Imad's pace showing through and again finishing well past the goalkeeper.
Another goal wasn’t too far away as George now out muscled and raced through though the final touch escaping him.
The pressure began to tell as following a goal keeping error Caleb collected and finished for his second.
The ever beleaguered James who again was in the wars took on the role of chief creator - providing a hat-trick of assists. First going to Henry who had kept his head up working hard for the team receiving the ball and shooting just outside the box.
The confidence oozing Henry showing off his skills, dribbling past players put in a cross to Imad, Alfie and James who all couldn’t co-ordinate to convert.
James now marshalling the back distributed twice to Imad down both wings. First passing to the right to release Imad who finished exceptionally and the second to the left where Imad's cross/shot found the bottom right.
*Moment of the Match*
Henry’s finish from outside the box from James assist! Having had his injury throughout the summer and worked so hard throughout the game it was well deserved!
*MOTM*
Special mentions all around to the defence/goal keepers who had their second successful clean sheet, James for adding to his assist tally, Imad for his four goals & determination throughout though Player of the Match goes to *Henry* - put his all in today, ran non-stop and got the goal he had been aiming for - had a hand in creating the first goal to break the deadlock with a fantastic cross field ball.
